Reddit mods demand action; major subreddits shut down and call for site-wide anti-racism push - weird flex but okay

I don't know where they get off, really. Anything vaguely un-PC already gets deleted and loudly removed to the cheers of thousands.
The mods govern their individual subreddits like the fiefdoms of a medieval German king. What more do they need from the site to stop words they don't lik?

I like reddit as little as I do you. It is however owned by a billion dollar corporation that's doing this for insurance against critique. It's why their policy is directed against anything that could affect stock and since their website deals in speech that is what they must regulate. It's a reasonable stance for them to have no matter how much we hate it or hate them.

I don't go to Reddit much these days for reasons that are probably obvious to people here, but there are a couple subreddits I check in on from time to time that aren't completely cucked. I noticed around the time the riots started my account got logged off for some reason (on multiple devices). This gave me a glimpse of the front page with all the default subreddits and what an absolute degenerate wasteland it is. It's bad, guys.

This would be true if it were reddit corporate doing something, but this is just a group of power jannies disabling posts for a day so why should they care about profits they will never see
