The thing about drama, is that if you ignore it, it doesn't really become drama. I'm sure they know about people trying to start shit, but unlike a lot of creators they mostly keep their distance from their fanbase. As opposed to say, TGWTG, who were involved with their fanbase to the point that they started pulling them into their awfulness.

As opposed to RLM who made fun of Len Kabasinski's movie and they ended up being friends (not least because Len seems really chill and not one to start drama himself).

There's also the fact while they made fun of Len's movies, they also genuinely enjoyed it. IIRC almost every Len movie has gotten Best of the Worst even before they knew him. They appreciated how these movies were obviously made by some kooky guy who just likes making crazy movies.

That's part of it, too. They genuinely enjoy schlock and tend to appreciate people that have as much fun making those films as they have watching them.

Someone already mentioned here in this thread that the Darth Vader suit video is literally just them reading a printout of the Wookiepedia page. It's a testament to their skill that they were able to turn that into something so hilarious.

C2-R4 was a multi-purpose droid built by Squibs as a failed project. The barman Wuher found one such droid in a Mos Eisley alley. The droid was previously owned by some Jawas who intended to use him for spare parts, but he was able to escape due to a faulty restraining bolt. He begged Wuher for help, however was abandoned because of Wuher's intense dislike for droids. One of the Jawas who previously owned C2-R4 later found and re-claimed him; but once again escaped when Wuher, after a realization and change of heart drove the Jawa away and claimed C2-R4 for himself. The droid later helped to create Wuher's perfect liqueur, notably after the novice bounty hunter Greedo was fatally blasted by Han Solo, and Wuher converted C2-R4 into a makeshift distillery. He then fed the stiffening corpse of the unlucky Rodian into the droid's shredder, piece by piece.

OH MY GOD, I actually remember reading that story in an old Complete Characters book from the 90s, where literally every minor character from the cantina was given an in depth back story. Yeah, in the old Legends EU Greedo's ultimate fate was to be turned into booze and drunk by Jabba the Hutt.

Len Kabanisky is a fat nerd in high school that got over it, made himself buff, and now makes movies about how buff he is.

He knows they're bad vanity projects that are enjoyable, but he's making these movies for him.
