You should probably try persuading them not to get it if you really care about them because the risks and expense are too high and it really won't make them any happier than just trying to live as a woman on hormones alone in most cases.

Honestly, same. Looking at it now he was on a fast track to death since his failed SRS surgery. He tried way too hard to speed things up, and clearly found irresponsible doctors to approve these multiple procedures at once. You're really only supposed to get major procedures once every couple of years, as some things (like a boob job for example) have like a 8 month recovery time by itself. If you don't give your body any time to heal and keep piling on the injuries you're eventually going to croak.

He had those 7 surgeries at once in April of 2018, and kept saying he had more to do but I'm not sure he ever did? I couldn't find hard evidence of him going back under the knife since then, so it seems that was his last. So... he was still not fully healed and still popping pills a year and a half after the fact. He said he had to be fucked up on drugs to even handle doing his dilation too. Big yikes.

Allot of this stuff can be achieved with HRT for a few months or years. stuff like breast inplants and penus invertus ( i dont know what its called) are pretty understandable, but at this point she was pretty addicted to the knife and it shows. As a trans dude, I only plan to go on hrt and get chest surgery, not risk my life to look like a bimbo cartoon.

that's a lot of time for someone with legitimate gender dysphoria to dwell on, because they already feel as if SRS is the solution to their problem, they won't feel fulfilled until they attain the image of what their body is supposed to look like so why prolong it? add to that equation that they're typically inside echo chambers of enabling assholes and fetishists egging them on to pull the trigger, just the prospect of achieving external validation from these people will drive these self loathing trannies to do a lot of things.

note how there's a lot of support for those contemplating SRS, the best you can hope for post-op is someone telling you not to kill yourself because you would become ammunition for the skeptics in death.

I'm pretty sure HRT can cause health issues too, although it's not as bad as SRS. If I remember correctly getting on testosterone makes FTMs more likely to have heart attacks and die young.

I think it has a lot to do with the way things go at that age. Most people who start to transition or troon out are constructing their new identity at the same time that their friends are being goth or huffing paint. Not a lot of real maturity. I’ve only seen positive experiences from my friends, it’s actually incredible how big the change was. but I’m just one person. The way I see it, and I know it’s not a popular view, but if someone is transgender and wants to take pills for it or shots, that’s their business. If it makes them happy, so be it. I like when my friends are happy (by ‘trans friends’ I mean 3 so maybe these are rare cases of happiness from transitioning)

From what I could gather from his tweets in the past 2~ years he was on Oxycodone, Gabapentin, Percocet, and Xanax. I think I'm forgetting some, too. This guy was on heavy opioids and benzos for years straight, it's no wonder this is how he went out.

I'm not sure he was taking all of those at once actually, I was just rattling off some names he mentioned in tweets over the period of a few years. He may have switched the Percocets to Oxys later, but based on this tweet he was definitely taking the Oxy, Gabapentin and Xanax simultaneously (although I assume he was taking the Xanax at night to sleep) and possibly some Zoloft in there too.
