Fantastic voice lines at 1:43 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=i57zfsD0Zm0It does look good.
I think Capcom overestimated how much people wanted to fight leeches. 0 is also where the villains jumped the shark, as it were.

It's like comparing Clock Tower (SNES) to Dino Crisis. "Survival horror" is an umbrella term for wildly different titles—even within the same franchise.Unironically resident evil 4-5 were better. At least with them you get the mild dopamine hit of 'hurr hurr headshot go boom'.
Looks like Capcom took inspiration from Assault on Precinct 13.Is the early section just a bit shit, or is it this way through the entire game?
I'm starting to think that might be the case. My friend has a massive boner for those sorts of games, and he really loves RE2. I find it it a tedious, boring, slog that's over the top and at the same time completely flat. Yeah, tedious is probably the best way to describe my experience of RE2. I didn't find it difficult, or tense or particularly satisfying. Everything I did that opened up new areas, or solved puzzles (which revealed yet more, tedious fucking puzzles) just made me make a slightly tired noise through my nose. It's like comparing Clock Tower (SNES) to Dino Crisis. If we're talking about old-school survival horror: inventory management, keys, and puzzles. Those might not be for you, my dude.
That makes a lot of sense actually. My personal explanation is she knew about the traitor in the team from Enrico and Chris didn't give her enough reason to trust him, especially if he had failed to save Edward.
I really, really miss Capcom's style of "pre-rendered backgrounds and 3D character models", that style affords a level of detail beyond even what modern 3D engines can do.It does look good.
I think Capcom overestimated how much people wanted to fight leeches. It's also the point where the villains jumped the shark, as it were.
Like it or not, there's no need for a locked camera anymore; thus, no need for tank controls. A fixed HD camera is a contradiction in terms.I really, really miss Capcom's style of "pre-rendered backgrounds and 3D character models",
I mean fixed camera angles can be a style imo. Tank controls are objectively bad though.Like it or not, there's no need for a locked camera anymore, and thus no need for tank controls. A fixed camera in HD is a contradiction in terms.
In my opinion it's still a worthy style just for the leap ahead in visual fidelity, considering how good near 20 year old pre-rendered graphics can still look, I can only assume today it'd look flat out photorealistic, which you'd think would "Like it or not, there's no need for a locked camera anymore, and thus no need for tank controls. Too closely associated with horror games. Outside of those, it's a tough sell.I mean fixed camera angles can be a style imo.
The villain in Zero is definitely odd and not necessarily in a good way.It does look good.

It's a tough line to walk. At what point does camp become 'knowingly bad'?The villain in Zero is definitely odd and not necessarily in a good way.
Singing opera to leeches definitely straddles that line. It's a tough line to walk. At what point does camp become 'knowingly bad'?
ME: "why u in a robe, dude, it’s pissing rain out."Singing opera to leeches definitely straddles that line.

Errr... Re7 and 8 says hi.One that's actually a good game now that the RE Engine has proven you can do a first-person Resident Evil without it being janky as fuck.
