Yes. Without getting into tl;dr, Lowtax fucked up Ashli's immigration status in an attempt to make it so that if she ever stepped out of line he could just deport her to Canada and keep her offspring and not owe her a cent and never fucking see her again. He managed to be so facially abusive to Ashli that when he sent the cops after her, they instead decided to help her get in touch with a legal aid nonprofit that provided her with lawyers to defend her in the divorce. It's all been downhill from there.

I'd imagine his lawyer bill is in the
$20-30k range, but it's hard to know. Richart probably charges around $4-500 an hour, and it seems like things have been pretty contentious so he's probably billed a lot of hours. It kind of depends a lot on unknowable stuff, like how much low-t calls him.

I suspect Lowtax is as hard to get a hold of as he was during his time as SA’s owner. Discussions would have to be excruciating as it’s unlikely he tells the truth at first so they have to keep finding out indirectly what’s actually going on.

Richard Kyanka is better known as Lowtax, the administrator of Something Awful. This is a divorce case between him and his second wife, Ashley Martin, better known as "Maplewife" as she is his second immigrant spouse, this time from Canada.

In December 13th, 2019 he filed for a divorce.

By January 21st, 2020 she was finally served. This "special" summons was so special because Ashley is technically, at time of writing, legally protected from Richard in a women's shelter in a different state. The processing had to be done by the government with consideration for her safety.

Now served, Ashley lawyered up and Richard has filed for custody of their toddler aged daughter.

He works for a group called the Legal Aid of West Missouri. This is a charity organization for people, most notably immigrants or people at risk of human rights abuses, who need pro bono representation.


On the right, representing the owner of a forum predominantly occupied by mentally ill people and EVE Online players (mentally ill people), is R. Scott Richart, noted SUPER LAWYER. His online resumes claim he's one of the top lawyers in the country with one of the top family firms in the country. Richart graduated from Creighton in 1993 and has been a partner with Albano, Richart, Welch & Bajackson (ARWB) since 1997.

Thanks to the huge amount of money Patreon is generating for Lowtax in exchange for literally nothing, Lowtax is able to spend tens of thousands of dollars hiring what is quite possibly the most vicious family attorney in the United States.

His abuse of Ashley primarily stemmed from the fact that he would not proceed with her immigration paperwork. She could not get a social security number, a driver's license, a bank account, a phone plan, a job, etc. She was completely dependent on him. She alleges he kept it locked away from her in a safe if I recall correctly. He made her an illegal immigrant.

Momtax, who was Ashley's financial sponsor in the immigration process, wanted to have Ashley deported once she would no longer put up with her son's abuse. Ashley's abuse seems to have been a family affair. Lowtax strapped Ashley with non-marital debt related to Something Awful LLC, a business he now claims she had no involvement in and deserves none of the proceeds from the sale of. Ashley was a prisoner trapped in Richard's home raising their young child while he popped pills, drank, and cheated on her physically and emotionally. How many ex-wives help the current wife flee to a domestic violence shelter?
