This is more of a stalemate or pyrrhic victory for Waid: he blew tons of cash on this case, and part of the agreement is he has to STFU, so he can't crow about beating Zack the Nazi.

Igle is full of shit and Nick can talk about the case all he wants without involving Meyer or his legal team. They would have to prove he had inside knowledge of the agreement to take a shot at either of them. It's completely within Nick's rights to discuss what's already public and speculate about what may have happened

It's not like if Waid was right there was some sort of remedy to his situation that would have gotten it resolved in less than 6 months, something like a TCPA. But sure spending 2 years fighting jurisdiction is definitely a sign of innocence.

Unless Nick signed on the dotted line himself he is completely not bound by any terms of the agreement.

Originally Meyer was going to do this with his own money. He said all the right things about not letting this happen to someone else, holding Waid accountable and so on.

If he managed to get a public apology out of Waid for his supporters who financed the LoLsuit that would have been something. But this is less than nothing.

Waid is not held accountable, no apology, no restitution we know of and the next asshole who decides to cancel a creator who liked Trump or thought there are only 2 genders won't think twice because Waid 'got away with it'. Whether Waid had to shell out to Meyer (I doubt it) or not we'll never know but if Meyer negotiated a cash settlement without an admission of guilt then he fucked over his supporters taking their money and then selling out their interests in return for Mark's money.

This result is gayer than two guys fucking.

If Waid paid him a sum above and beyond the expected damages then the SJW grapevines gets a message that their shit can get really expensive. Waid has fuck you money, most of his peers don't so they will think twice before pulling any stupid shit.

It is a win, but not the one we expected.

Yes, an unaffliated lawyer will be in trouble for commenting on it, while the attorney of one of the people signing an NDA goes freely on twitter and explians the why and the how the case was dropped...

More in the "absolutely nothing happens" territory. Who's gonna sue for breaching the agreement, Zack? He's shown he does not want to sue.

I don't know why anybody thinks YBZ received any money as part of the settlement. There's no indication that he did. Waid is broke, petty and vindictive, and he'd rather go bankrupt than do the reasonable thing. After two years of fighting for jurisdiction and Wuhan-19 providing at least a free bonus year worth of delays, you think he's just gonna do a 180 and act like an adult?

IMO, Zack got sick of having to deal with that shit and just cut his losses. A judgment against Waid would have been nice but again, Waid is broke and the comic industry is dead so there's not much in it for him. The lawsuit's costs were largely covered by the GFM and he makes enough money off his indie comics to buy a lifetime's worth of breakfast burritos, so he's probably okay with his life right now.
