I never read many of his reviews, but he was definitely a huge influence in the world of film criticism. Like I said, I know some people who wouldn't even watch movies until they heard what he had to say about them.

RIP.

I'll admit, I was never really a fan of Ebert, but it's still sad to see him go. I'll always respect him for calling out Rob Schneider and the guys from Jackass. RIP.

I'm pretty sure every "reviewer" online thought that, really. But Ebert was one of a kind, a real intellectual, not a douchebag with access to new media and a precarious grasp on film, wit, and language.

Too bad Nostalgic Critic stained the art of film review and criticism.

I can't say that I'm a fan of his reviews because some of them are appallingly lazy (e.g. his review of 'The Beyond') but he has indeed done some great critiques and, like Saney, I will always cherish him for saying that Rob Schneider's 'European Gigolo' sucks while boasting his award. He will be sorely missed.

This makes me genuinely sad... Thank you, Mr. Ebert. You and Mr. Siskel were legends. Hope you're chillin' together in that great big movie theater in the sky.

Discuss the Nostalgia Critic in the Cinemassacre/TGWTG topic. This is not an appropriate thread.

I already said so in another thread, but again, RIP. Good man.

Maybe they'll finally be able to watch The Room now.

Damn, he was just a couple of months shy of 61 years old... Sad to see somebody die in what is now a relatively young age.

RIP.

EDIT: Miscalculated his age, he was almost 71. Still a relatively young age for a westerner.

My siblings and I had dinner tonight at Steak n' Shake to memorialize Ebert (it was his favorite restaurant).

Yeah. Some how, Zsa Zsa Gabor is STILL alive, but Ebert is gone. I'm beginning to think she's sustaining her life force on the souls of other celebrities.

Although I'm not really a fan of Roger Ebert since I never read or watched any of his reviews (clips do not count), he did leave an impact as a film critic, especially when it came to his thoughts on North or what he said about Rob Schneider's "European Gigolo" movie.
