I like the beat in the first video more and sat through it. The bit I heard from the Beeb is autotuned so that instantly discredits it. At least make the music interesting.

He's had some successful collaborations over the last couple years, but he hasn't put out any new solo stuff in quite a while. His last album was pretty successful, though, both commercially and critically.
I don't know how this new album will sound, but this song is a real step back from his more recent material. Like you say, it just isn't interesting.
