My money is on Eli either being restricted from the internet by his dad (for possibly having a dank sward), or he actually took some form of weapon (however ridiculous) and attempted to assault a building. It's my understanding that Canada is very strict on weapons, even replica ones, so Eli being in jail doesn't seem super far fetched. I don't think he's dead though. As Hunter S. Thompson put it, "Too weird to live, too rare to die.".
