Showing up on this thread pretty late to this thread but this video definitely is something memorable in terms of shock.

I've seen plenty of shock videos in the past 10 years, every once-in-a-while you tend to get a new "shock video" circulating around the internet which has all the regular online users fucking pissing themselves over it. Budd Dwyers was probably the first I'd remember and that was a decade ago, but more recently in terms of gunshot suicide livestream videos there's been that one /r9k/ bandana kid and the Russian dude "1444" whatever the fuck they called that. This particular video definitely takes the cake over the most gnarly shotgun suicide we've seen online.

This video feels so perfectly set-up. You get some millennial, big-beard liberal soyboy-looking dude who instantly blows his face apart into a giant mess of blood and face matter; lookin like a goddamn close-up DOOM shotgun blast. All the while you've got the new Samsung "Over the Horizon" theme blaring like a fucking movie scene in the exact moment he becomes an hero.

Ultimate scumbag movie on the part of "Ronnie Mcnutt" here, I don't give a fuck how shit your life is or how much you wanna kill yourself; this man did it on a LIVESTREAM with his mother watching n shit, of course he was gonna get memed by the edgelords of social media for doing this.. He chose the most gory way of suicide too, not a peaceful-enough one like hanging or taking a shitload of drugs. By the end of the video he's barely resembling anything human and just a red meat flower-mess.

Around the time this became popular online, it was being spammed on TikTok and the edgy parts of Instagram and people were all like "THINK ABOUT THE KIDS, THEYRE GETTING SCARRED" and I'm thinking like "who gives a shit, if they're using social media unsupervised they're literally bound to eventually see something they shouldn't, that's always what happens"

Usually this stuff doesn't phase me too much. I remember seeing the Shuiby stuff when it was recent, but for whatever reason, after seeing this and looking at some of Hoodsite's other "exquisite" content, it fucked me up. Stupid shit wasn't just stupid shit to me for all of today; it was stupid shit that didn't even matter. Not even for laughing at it. Best comparison I can think of is someone drifting away at sea holding onto a life preserver, with the only thing keeping them and said life preserver connected to anything being a singular thread attached to a boat. Call me a pussy if you want, but I don't want to feel like this again, so I'll probably steer clear of this stuff from now on. Even if it's only as likely to happen as getting the bullet in Russian Roulette; I still don't want to end up feeling so disconnected.

In the case of the Shuaiby video, it wasn't the gore or the suicide that fucked with me, it was the reaction of his mother. The last 20 minutes or so of that video are anti-suicide fuel, or at the very least, it might motivate people to not do it in such a gruesome way or where they can be found by family members. You can really hear the total anguish, shock and confusion in her voice and before I watched it, I guess I never really thought about why many consider suicide a selfish act. But after that, now I get it. And it's especially so in the case of Ronnie McNutt, he attention-whored for a while prior, rebuffed all attempts of friends/family reaching out to him, fucking livestreamed it so his family would see it, and did it in the most gruesome way possible. Hell, at least that Shuaiby guy had the decency to try and put up a tarp, though it didn't hold up. Plus I think he slid a note under the door telling his mom to at least not allow the younger siblings to go in.

When you look up suicide methods using Google, they actually show you prevention hotlines. Bing just tells you how to do it.

And people say Bing is a bad search engine. If I'm looking something up, I don't want a bunch of crap about the opposite thing!

I like to think that he could have been brought back to being healthy and sane with a stronger community. One to steer him away from the hateful rhetoric that led him down the path of self hate for his sex and race. Thanks to covid and the unending shutdown new normal that community will never form again, this kind of shit will get worse. A lot worse.
