Maybe a horrible analogy but I think its a cornered animal type reaction. Guy probably didn't realize that there was more to life so he opted out of this perceived raw deal.

That's probably the case.
I also think he was drinking far too much, maybe drugs too, since that's what a lot of people turn to in difficult times. He was obviously intoxicated. That will definitely skew your perception of reality and cause you to seriously catastrophize things in your life.

He ultimately made his choice, sadly, he left his family and friends traumatized and to bear the brunt of that choice, For that, I have no sympathy.

Anyone who wants to kill themselves will just do it, there won't be too many obvious warning signs once it gets to that point, as their mind is pretty well made up. The people that threaten suicide, are generally the ones who wont do it, and they're either looking for attention or want help and don't how to get it or too ashamed to ask for help.

Speaking from experience; I knew two people who killed themselves and there was no obvious warning that it was coming.


As a footnote, I just want to add.... never be ashamed to ask for help.

If anyone has struggled with clinical depression, has had an actual chemical imbalance in their brain, when you feel truly hopeless and you don't know why and suicide feels like the only option, those are the people who I feel sorry for. Not this dude who didn't get a job he wanted or the girlfriend he wanted.
I feel sorry for his family and friends, especially anyone of them who had to watch that video. That was his ultimate (and last) "fuck you" to everyone.
Suicide almost always comes as a shock when you know the person because they usually hide the warning signs or you just don't see them.

Tbf his end of life was basically real life Falling Down. He's a guy who did and said all the right things made all the right moves then he loses his job his girl leaves him he's about to get kicked out of his home so he said "fuck it." And while I dont really know who he was talking to but if it was someone close to him then that's kind of terrible. There was probably something they could have said to pull him back but seemed to have denied him. Also, he didn't kill anyone else. So in a world of murder-suicides and mass-shooter-suicides I wouldn't say he's that selfish.
