Think about it, the film is an allegory for the civil rights movement of the era in which it was produced. Rudolph is treated differently and segregated because of the color of his nose. His crushes father wont even let her talk to him because he had a nose of color. However he proves in the end that he is just as capable as anyone of being a moral, productive, and contributing member to flying reindeer society.
The island of misfit toys is metaphor for a socialist society. There is no currency, and the lion runs it as a dictator. They also dont allow the existence of certain groups in their society (only broken toys are allowed on the island of misfit toys, not those (((unbroken))) toys that secretly control all of the toy world).
Mrs. Claus encourages santa to put on weight, to accept his body and not worry about trying to be skinny and ignore the fatphobia. A beautiful example of fat acceptance.
Hermey the elf is a strong and well written LGBT character. He doesnt let other people tell him what kind of person to be, he follows his own heart.
Despite numerous glaring plot holes (why does rudolph float across the sea on that tiny slab of ice when hes a FLYING reindeer amirite?) this film has amazing representation and teaches so many great values to kids. Best xmas special ever.
