This makes sense given how constantly they would rerun the same episodes over and over again.Nickelodeon actually had a policy that no nicktoon could have a proper Finale at all. This was done so they could keep airing reruns of their shows while making kids think more episodes would be made if there was no definite episode that said the end it's over bye have a beautiful time
Being a kid and not really knowing how TV worked, you didn't know what the deal was, you would start to notice the same episodes airing over and over again but then sometimes you'd see one you hadn't seen before and wonder if it that was a "new" episode although that of course became rarer as time went on.
I just find it ironic to think that Rugrats was already "over with" before the 1997 revival during the time I would most remember watching it, just funny to think I was always watching reruns unbeknownst to me.
What did help though was that with every show there were always those episodes that they would air rarely, which helped keep it feeling fresh and not too stale.
Too bad as that would have been really funny.Yep, and IIRC, Angry Beavers had a finale that addressed all of those issues, with Norb and Dag becoming aware they're cartoon characters stuck on an endless loop of reruns. Obviously, the Nick execs were not amused in the least and canned the episode.
