He has such a hateboner for games. Did his parents teach him to hate them by disapproving of them and never allowing them into the house when Russ was young? Or is this related to how he has no hobbies or interests outside of sex and occasionally shitting out a song once every few years? I feel like this one could go either way.Reminder that he really hates video games, and that it's much more funner to just spend all day trapped in his own mind.

Politics don't get him laid, he doesn't really care, but I'd say he leans toward conservative, but really its more that he's a total fucking boomer square.

He has described himself as a "progressive libertarian". Libertarian because he thinks prostitution should be legalized, and progressive because he thinks the government should tax people to pay for his hookers. Despite his self-description, he's advocated for laws making it illegal for women to turn him down for sex, which violates both progressive and libertarian ideals.
In 2016, under his "Neon Brothel" Twitter account, he claimed he caucused for Trump. He's also defended Trump on Facebook comments, but lately he's suggested that he's going to vote for Biden, even though he'd earlier claimed that he wouldn't.
In 2018 he voted for Romney for Senate and McAdams for House, calling himself an "independent". He then got mad at Romney when his requests to shut down "cyberbullying" websites like this one got just a form letter from his staffers, so he named Romney as a defendant in a lawsuit which I believe hasn't been filed yet.
Despite all this, he's also claimed to be "far left". He also had a brief infatuation with Tulsi Gabbard earlier this year, which ended in a similar fashion to his Romney support.
Basically, he has no coherent political viewpoint. The only commonality in any of his claimed political positions is "will this help get me my penis sucked?" However, his narcissism prevents him from accepting that representative democracy doesn't exist to facilitate the sucking of him his penis, and as one of millions of constituents, and a rather unsympathetic one at that, he has to organize if he wants political change.

In general, Russell's only political ambition is making prostitution legal, and he will support any politician who he thinks will support that whether or not they say anything about prostitution or not. For a very long time he was a Trump supporter, there are many old posts of him insulting people, especially Hispanics, who spoke out against him. He also thirsted over Tiffany and Ivanka Trump. Lately, however, he has not been as vocal politically.
In the end though, his only priority has been seeing how he can get himself laid easier. There was a particularly exceptional period in this thread a few years back where Russell started lashing out at Alexandria Occasio Cortez for not supporting legalizing brothels in Utah. This is, of course, ridiculous, since AOC does not live in Utah and said nothing about making prostitution legal at all, but Russell has long had an issue with powerful women unless he thinks he has a shot at banging them. He called AOC "O'Fakeio" for a while, apparently thinking her middle name was Irish.
As the comment above me points out, he has changed his political identity a few times over the years, but in general his only priority has been trying to get laid and making hookers legal. Once a candidate ignores him, he turns against them. He at one point sent his book to the White House thinking Trump would invite him there to make laws about celebrity disclaimers (if you're new to this thread you need to read his lawsuits to know what this is in reference to) because he has a very inflated sense of self-importance.

Russ doesn't see value in pretty much anything that won't help him get rich, famous, or chicks. He's stated on several occasions that he thinks video games are just a waste of time because they would distract him from "making his dreams come true". I don’t think his parents had any influence over his views on gaming, considering that they've had very little influence over Russ in general. It's just all Russhole's own brand of craziness and his self-image of being a "driven go-getter" who won't let anything get in the way of making his dreams come true.
The ironic thing is playing video would be a better use of time, since Russ (and 99% of the human population), no matter how talented they are or hard they try, will never reach the fame of A-list celebrities.
Russell is one of those people who selects a jumble of positions from all over the political spectrum, and who thinks this means his perspective is "nuanced" and "unconventional" rather than just incoherent.

In short Russel waffles between both the right and the left at any given moment because A) He hopes that playing both sides will help him finally land his 9 or 10 and B) He's narcissistic enough to believe that throwing his support behind someone matters enough that they will be indebted to him and help him in his hooker quest.

I would agree if not for the fact that Russ' favorite music is teen pop and Matchbox 20. The latter is such a boomer choice that it had to come from somewhere.
Perhaps it would be better to say that they had influence, it just wasn't the influence that they would like, and a lot of it was very superficial like his obsession with suit-wearing and going to the Olive Garden.
Does it matter, or do you just want to be sure that you only make fun of lolcows who are guilty of wrong think.
