Has Russ ever mentioned being an Eagle Scout before? I don't remember him ever mentioning it, and it seems like one of those things he'd constantly mention along with his paralegal degree and his songwriting "career".

I vaguely recall him mentioning it, and I called bullshit then. As holder of the Queen's Scout award, the Canadian equivalent of Eagle Scout, I can say that there is no goddamn WAY Russ had the manual dexterity, mental acuity, focus and willpower and just plain drive to master the number of merit badges it takes. It's fucking HARD.

So that means he was gifted into Eagle status like so many other things being made easier for him as God's favourite idiot.

Over on r/exmormon, there’s been quite a few discussions about the LDS church running Scouts they way they wanted, including Eagle Scout Lite awards. No doubt Russ was affiliated with with a church-sponsored troop. I’m not sure what merit badge he got for the kill list or spending time in juvie, though.
