i know that living in a RV/trailer is common in america especially in poorer areas the "trailer trash" people but i think that in europe it wouldn't be considered socially acceptable. is there a community of people living in trailers in european nations? what about your country (for people who are not american)? in my country there are none, but some use RVs only for vacation purposes.

sorry for powerleveling but in the balkans i can confirm no one lives in a trailer which is a pity. seems like a pretty nice life and liberating.

Here in Britain the only people I know who live in caravans permanently are gypsies/Irish travellers. The type of people who would live in trailer parks in America here live in apartment complexes (which we call "flats") and living in a trailer is mainly confined to holiday resort parks like Haven and Butlins over the summer. The closest equivalent to the type of trailer park you're describing that I can think of is a town in Essex called Jaywick (officially the poorest town in the UK) where people live in repurposed holiday homes year-round.

trailer park life in america is for the rural poor
in europe those poor all just funnel into the cities and end up living in state funded housing projects

>but i think that in europe it wouldn't be considered socially acceptable
it's not considered socially acceptable in america either, but the people who live like that usually have a lot more serious issues to worry about than what rich city snobs consider acceptable. living in a trailer isn't something you choose to do, it's where you end up when your only other option is straight up homelessness.

The only general way this sort of this is "accepted" by richer classes is if you are rich enough to live in an RV and can also afford to move it all over the place as a constant vacation. That way it's basically just a bigger version of that van life fad. This, or you go with a similar mobile home but not really mobile home, the "tiny house" which is exactly what it sounds like. Most are the same size as trailers if not smaller, but people find it classier because they're usually not prefab boxes. And usually they are way more expensive than regular trailers because they're put forward like actual houses, even though you can generally hitch them up and take them with you.

If you're most interested in portability you can cough up 100k+ to get someone to build you one of these.

Or just get a small trailer. Probably cheaper.
then it isn't cheap.

Living in them? The New European way is to use those kinds of vehicles as tools of cultural enrichment.

The romani peoples do that
And they are even worse than trailer white niggers trash

Everyone hates them in europe.
i am from the balkans so i know gypsies better than most. afaik they have several gypsy tribes so the gypsies here aren't like british gypsies and out of all the tribes the ones here are worst. though some of them are really hard workers and do things nobody else would. but they are heartless. also they are good musicians.

gypsies across continental europe are all the same, those on the british isled are an entirely different ethnic group that are distinct from continental gypsies

ill give a run down of my own personal experience growing up near the american West coast in trailers.
grew up on an Indian reservation living in towable trailers. my family owned the land, but was pretty poor and couldn't afford to build a house. pretty comfy even though space was tight, the land had septic, water, and electric. even had a horse. while we were pretty poor we still made enough for food and clothing. I'd rate it about a 6.5/10

later on I lived in what people on the West coast call a trailer park. lot different then most trailer parks, it was more akin to a prefab house park if anything. houses were literally only 5-10 feet apart from each other and the houses were always made of shit materials and shit design. the trailers were "towable", as in they were towed in by a large truck and then bolted to the ground. most people that lived there owned the trailer, but rented the land it was placed on. these kinds of parks are a lot more expensive and normally close to or located in small cities. I'd rate it around a 5/10.

last trailer park I ever lived in was more akin to what most people would consider a trailer park. it was 5 miles out from the edge of a smaller city, surrounded by alfalfa fields and sheep, and had a lot meth heads and gamblers. most of the trailers were the camper type, the ones that are also a truck, but most people that had one of these had their camper break down a long time ago so they never moved. a lot of the nicer older folk that lived there used to be snowbirds, which is a type of boomer that travels south when the winter starts getting cold. it was pretty shit but it did have a river everyone could freely swim in year-round and somehow everyone managed to keep it clean from trash or drug paraphernalia (the guy who owned the park certainly didn't clean it). I'd rate this a "not homeless" out of 10.

the main issue with rv/trailer living is the fact that you either need to be parked in an actual location, rely on septic dump locations if you have a camper that has a bathroom, or be able to dry camp. and I didn't even touch on other restrictions like parking laws or how to even receive mail. I think the United States is a bit different with rv thing simply because we didn't have hundreds of years of romani influencing law changes and cultural attitudes like most of Europe has had.

In England? Pikeys! also the occasional actual gypsy although they tend to keep a low profile these days because they aren't pikeys but most people don't draw that distinction. Then there's classy fuckers like me who buy old buses to convert into campers which is why I have a moody wife and a slowly decaying Dennis Dart in my driveway.
