Because they want that Marvel money and they think a cinematic universe is the way to get it, rather than making a good film.

most of the HB series were absolutely terrible rip-offs of other HB cartoons.

there are probably about half a dozen memorable HB series out of the dozens of different shows they produced, and they already made a yogi bear film.

On the one hand, it could work. There have been several H-B team ups before, some of which sucked, some of which were entertaining.

On the other hand, considering the track record of films based off of cartoons it'll most likely suck. Especially considering the whole godforsaken cinematic universe trend. Maybe this'll be the nail in the coffin.

It least it's full-on animation this time and not live action. I've heard the new Scooby Doo comic has been pretty good. Maybe it'll be based off that.

That's Scooby Doo, Mystery Incorporated. Aired on Cartoon Network for two seasons and was basically a Scooby Doo series with a continuous storyline and a much darker theme to it. It was actually pretty good, from what I remember.
