Lolcow SailorMars86 - where obscure anime and MLP meet

I was looking up fanart for an old childhood anime of mine called Shinzo. It was about this girl was the last human and had been asleep for five hundred years only to wake up with a mission from her long dead father to find a place called Shinzo, the last hold-out for humans.

While it might sound like an interesting premise the series was...average at best and never really built a strong fanbase and is mostly remembered for nostalgia reasons. I never thought I would encounter a lolcow from this fandom.

But I did meet SailorMars86

She ships a pony version of Lord Ryuma from Shinzo with Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. Who is Lord Ryuma? Ryuma is a villain from Shinzo who only appears for three episodes in the series (one of the episodes only being a cameo) and his main goal was pretty simple for a villain brainwash the good guys into become his slaves to take over the world and force the heroine to marry him.

Admittedly, he is one of the better villains of the show, but that is not saying much.

Originally, I was not going to put her in the lolcow forums, but then I found her youtube account.

She makes videos of herself playing with MLP toys.

This woman is 27 years old.

Honestly, speaking as someone who collects action figures, I don't mind it when people post pictures of their collection (or make comics or stop-motions about their figures).

But to be someone at her age (which I'm not) still playing with toys meant for 5 year old girls... That's another matter entirely.

I agree, for all we know, she might have some other form of mental disease. Fuck, she might not even have one. And I don't know what's scarier- Autistic people who love MLP, or non-Autistic people who love MLP.

I'm sorry, but MLP, as a show, is horribly overrated, IMHO.
I honestly do feel that no one should be obsessing over something like this, no matter how good some people think it is.
It's times like this that I can only wish people like these would see the cold hard truth about the kids' show they obsess over so much, if only to put a stop to such lolcow behavior like what we have on display here.

Thank you... It feels good to NOT be alone on this opinion (even if I want it to be seen as fact, sometimes, only because I've watched and even forgotten about better cartoons (and some anime - though I'm not big on anime anymore, at all!) in comparison...).

She obviously sounds very child like. A number of mental and physical disorders can cause that, like Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and so on. Could also be that she simply has a low IQ.

As much as how some people like sailormars86 love to say it's the best cartoon ever, it's really nothing more than just a glorified toy commercial that would get people to buy the toys sailormars86 showed in her video. Of course, that ain't the only truth regarding MLP, there's also the drama and what one can see from what sailormars86 has on her deviantart. Really, even though the cartoon does have appeal (be it to children or adults), there are better ones out there (that aren't glorified toy commercials) such as Tom & Jerry or Ed, Edd n Eddy or even Megas XLR.

2) Yeah, when there's a tumblr out there with the cold hard truth pn things wrong with something, and it ends up being accurate / right, that's a sign it's time to stop blindly liking something, despite its appeal, as an animation fan on any level - and learn to be more critical of such screwups.

As it is, shows I truly love (without naming examples here), probably have similar problems, too. And not just with animation - hence my critical opinions of them, too.

As much as I like the show, you honestly do have better shows out there like the ones I listed, plus Regular Show or any other animated show that is better. Also, Tumblr isn't the only one.

Even the wiki shows it plus you have Youtube videos out there that will show the animation errors but lets not get off topic here, this isn't the brony thread, this a thread about a woman who likes some obscure anime character and MLP. Going by what Globe and The Dude, with how she sounds, she could have some kind of disorder. As for that "hacker", is there anything else that shows how she reacts? Any inappropriate response to criticism or such?

I should note that on youtube there is a genre of adults making videos with toys.

But there is a difference between them and SailorMoon86, they are mostly parents and teachers.

Their audience is kids and to entertain them and also review toys for parents. Some companies will actually send these people free toys to review if they are popular enough.

SailorMars86 is pretty much playing for herself like a child with a video camera.

I like the show, but mainly for the bands it produces. It's not a bad show, in fact it's pretty good, just kinda hard to watch at times.

Back to SailorMars86, I do believe that some bronies take it too far, and maybe they should do something else with their lives. We don't really know what she does for a living, and if she is on welfare, just spending her tugboat on toys, then that's not good. However, she could be trying to impress a niece or nephew, however unlikely that may be.
