On 31 August 2017, it will be precisely 20 years since Diana, Princess of Wales, the so-called Queen of Hearts and idol of emotionally incontinent Britbongs because she had a failed marriage to Prince Charles (who was knocking off a woman with a horse-shaped face on the side, while she was knocking off a heart surgeon, a paratrooper, and the son of the proprietor of Harrods), was scooped off the wall of a French road tunnel.

Needless to say, this being the silly season the papers are once again full of new "revelations" about her and the emoting and cryin rn on social media is gearing up.

So once you've passed the sickbags, this is where we can cap and post reactions to the anniversary of the death of a woman people have never met and subsequently die of hyponatraemia.

Here's some social media pages and caps to start you off.

It's odd how loving Diana (and the royals in general) has become an unspoken rule for everyone here in the UK. If you say anything negative about them whatsoever people will get mad on most occasions.

Reading the comments sections in the UK press gives me the impression that people fall into two rather extreme camps - the pro-Diana faction and the pro-Royals faction. Both are utterly batshit, but each argues as if they have personal knowledge of the events and accepts anything which supports their particular viewpoint as gospel.

They're two sides of the same coin really. The pro-Diana and anti-Diana camps are both royalists at heart. There's also those of the republican persuasion (i.e. Jeremy Corbyn), who are seen as the embodiment of the devil himself by royalists and the tabloid press.

The only people that care about Diana that much are the batshit crazies in the pro/anti camps, with the crossover into classic conspiritard territory from time to time.

She did some cool stuff what with the AIDS things and all that, but she wasn't a saint or anything.

Conspiracy nuts are crazy though. Like, if the royals wanted her dead they'd do it in a much saner way than a stupid car crash.

Oh come on. Her heart was on the other side of her chest when they found her, having been displaced by the impact. She could have had a team of uber experienced cardiothoracic surgeons scrubbed and ready to go within seconds of the accident and she still would have bled out.

Remember - always wear your seatbelt, and don't drink and drive.
