What are your thoughts on Sam Hyde and his content these days?

Personally, I used to like both.

Now I don't like either.

And that's not even counting his incessant snorts into the mic like DSP, chewing like a cow, mocking fans critical of his careless and cringe/poor content, monkey-branching between grifters like Fuentes and Hassle, horrendous financial and creative advice, blathering mindlessly with "people" like that one scrawny kid (the one who loves weed and whose mind was "opened up" by gangster rap music), and basically trying to be the bastard child of Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan with a quasi "I'm so unlikable I'm likeable" persona he sells.
And all this for $5 a month, when the funniest thing he's done/said in the last three years or so has come from Nick's mouth.

Anyways, I dunno what his deal with women is. He had his heart broken by an art-ho and since then he just treats 'm like shit.
Nick used to be chill too but now I don't know what to even think about him anymore. Things changed after their big gig and now it all went south.

Sitting there in his little studio with a quiet zoomer numbnut that doesn't add anything to the conversation is not high quality time bruh.

I mean, he did pretty much predict that female cop pulling her gun instead of taser a few months ago with amazing clarity.

Charls’ is boring and just shows old free use movies on his Twitch stream. He is so hung up on “purity,” he is pissed off he can’t buy unpasteurized milk in Rhode Island. At least Sam can still tell jokes without being the joke.

I've seen clips of his streams. I like the guy. He has a very recognizable, characteristic sense of humor that's still hard to pin down. Again, you can clearly see what must have been his influence on different skits in MDE.

I used to watch his full streams on Twitch and I would say he is fairly boring, maybe cracks a joke or two a stream, and just depends on showing movies or videos with his commentary to provide content since he rarely plays games. However, if he acted anything like Sam Hyde he would of been banned already, so more power to him to keep up the sub count despite putting out vapid content. However he has some bizarre reading suggestions that would of gotten him a ban from Twitch if the Troon Deer Mod found out.

I’ll concede he displays a really good attitude about things, like he is never angry or annoyed on stream. He has the right personality for streaming and dealing with online fans; just his content is boring. He has done some curious rants like complaining about modern food, lack of nutrition (hates pasteurization), modern FPS games are too realistic and thus become snuff porn simulators, and even weirdly thinks modern consoles/PCs are trash because they don’t have specially dedicated hardware, such as PowerPC processors meant solely for gaming, thus ruining the best game/art experience.

Overall he is just this weird yet charismatic guy and I think it’s attracted a cult like group around him. I am thankful he introduced me to Eugene O’Neill plays from watching his streams, Charls has good tastes in playwrights.

I feel kind of bad for him. I actually enjoyed his newer stuff, like the Great War and Ghost Suckers, and the new guys he hangs with don't bother me too much. I honestly think he deserves a better fanbase than the one he has, as gay as it sounds.

For example, there was a comment someone left on the Ghost Suckers saying it was "too on the nose and like the real thing", when the whole joke was that any moron with good editing and showmanship could do the exact same thing as IRL ghost shows. I feel like he wants to do things that aren't just retreading old ground, but when he does that, his viewers don't like it. It's obvious he's an artist, and I think he would rather do what he enjoys, even if less people are watching. Perfect Guy Life seems like filler that he tries to make enjoyable, and it's hit or miss for me, but I get why he does it, seeing how dedicated he is to that video game he's been working on for a while now.

I dunno. I'll still watch his stuff because it's funny to me, and his comedy is still pretty unique.

I've been watching MDE since 2010 or 2011. Around the time of College Cunts and Ideas Man is when I really got hooked.

I still pay $5 a month for the gumroad content. It's not all great, the Perfect Guy Life podcast is mediocre at best (though still better than their new skits) but I still listen to it. I pay for it because he's one of the few last remaining creators I think can possibly whip up something good, even if he has gotten lazy. I actually enjoyed Hydewars quite a bit, so it's pretty much been a steady downward slope ever since the paywall. But bad Sam Hyde content is still better than 99% of most internet content, and even though I know how to bypass the paywall I like to support the efforts of a small business owner.

I'm really glad he got Nick on the podcast. He's much better than the zoomie wiggers he hang out with for a while there.

This year all we've gotten is The Great War (which was good) for 3 episodes, and the rest is just this "Perfect Guy Life" podcast which is too long and too boring even for background play. Not even Nick Rochefort could right this sinking ship, as even he manages to bore the hell out of me. You don't even need to be behind the paywall, just watch the clips on YouTube and you won't be missing out on anything.

What the fuck happened? Where is Sam Hyde's creative drive now? Is all he does now is just smoke cigars and count his money?

I don't care about him allegedly developing his vaporware game, which is code for "I got nothing going on".

Just looking at the PGL podcast, the episodes with Nick on them have been far superior to the ones without him.

I agree with you in that the recent skit production has been very subpar, and that the video game should've been done ages ago, but aside from all that bringing Nick into the podcasts upped it from "why the fuck am I watching this shit?" to genuinely pretty entertaining. Not giving them excuses for slacking on all the other content, but PGL itself did get a lot better with Nick co-starring in it. And I suppose that's why he's in all the recent episodes. Haven't watched the Youtube clips because they're just cut out from the stuff I've already seen, but I think the 3 hour episodes have more good moments in them than what can be condensed to a 20-minute youtube video.
