Last night, the eighth episode of Samurai Jack season 5 aired. It firmly established a romantic relationship between the title character and his female companion, Ashi. A big portion of the fanbase, particularly on Tumblr, is absolutely fucking livid about this.

They could be using all this unnecessary rage to protest against countries that actually target homosexual relationships like the Middle East. The finale was 14 years ago, so that's a pretty safe assumption. The show is a product of a by-gone era, where the political correctness of series such as Steven Universe weren't conceived of yet.

Well, if it pisses off Tumblr-fucks and the like, then that makes this good. It's like that song says at then of this particular episode they're whining and crying about, after all.

I admit I'm not completely sold on this development just yet (seems like it just came outta nowhere to me, but who the fuck cares!), but I'm still gonna keep watching this show... and not just to see where this goes, either.

I'm just re-kindling my long lost love for a cartoon I'm more than proud to watch, more than anything, unlike these Sharia Law-obsessed twats who think EVERYTHING should be like Steven Universe. BLEGH.

Last night I laughed so hard when the scene with Jack and Ashi kissed because I knew there was going to be salt.....From /co/ on 4chan.

I wasn't expecting Tumblr to be salty from this, but I've should've known better.

Also, apparently Genndy based this around his childhood fantasies of traveling with his childhood crush in bizarre alien lands. (Jack = Genndy, Ashi = His crush)

After I read about that, I knew Jashi was pretty much going to happen.

So, I have to ask... Have any of these dumb shits been to Russia? Gotten a feel for Russian sentiment towards homosexual behavior? Any idea of what the Eastern Orthodoxy thinks of gay sex?

Genndy was born in Russia, but he moved to the U.S. when he was about five years old. Still, he's got no Tumblr and no Twitter - and all the better for him. He's got common sense.

This is probably the most moronic thing to be salty about yet - it's just a fucking heterosexual relationship. You can have issues with how it was written, and that's fine, but an awful lot of people seem to be against a hetero relationship being shown on TV at all here. How did we get to this point?

The next episode plot suggests that Aku has found a severe weakness against Ashi, so it could be possible lol. Either he ends up tempting the darkness within her and Jack must be forced to kill her or Aku just straight up kills her. The salt will be immense: both shippers and Tumblrinas will be piiiiised.
