I have a real fondness for old pulp covers, and one of, if not the most influential in the field was Frank R. Paul. It's odd to see aliens, robots and spaceships as imagined by a man born in 1884, but there's no denying his style...

I'm always in for some good sci-fi art. Although I don't like when the main focus is on one character, like many of those Michael Whelan pieces in the OP.

I like some things by Bruce Pennington. Some of his paintings have the perfect mix of morbid death, dread and epic fantasy in them.

Huh, that looks like Richard Corben's work...He does a lot of stuff like that, most notably Den, a fantasy comic star:ring a huge naked bald man with a huge swinging dick and numerous big-titted women (also nude):
