It seems like another user figured it out on a hunch. They passed it along to staff, and numerous IP conflicts with his alternate account @esbeem confirmed Esbeem was canofsoda, and Esbeem was known to be sbm already.

I do recall the accounts all posting in the same threads as each other (Tooter, Mikemikev, and a couple others) but I really didn't suspect socking until someone suggested it was possible.
