With motion/pointer controls but yes, generally the same game but as Scott said certain games like Pikmin really benefitted from having the pointer since you can do more stuff while moving around

used to get those ps1 magazines just to play the demo disc. speaking off demos, i played RE8 demo and it was awful. who thought having a demo timed was a good idea? not buying that game thats for sure.

What's the point of the BOX then?
Nintendo Switch games are going down that trend.
I'd guess it's just to have them alongside all the other games on discs & cartridges, and so they can be bulkier than just a card for gift wrapping.
I can imagine there've been a number of Christmases and birthdays ruined from kids getting empty boxes when they thought they were getting a cartridge.
I agree, very wasteful and honestly I hate it. It's already bad enough that there's always a chance the game will be taken offline, and with the impending doom of the PS store closing(I know they aren't going to shut them down yet, probably within two years though), those boxes will just rot away in some landfill somewhere.
Evidently, the reason why instruction manuals went out the kazoo is to be more "environmentally friendly." Now that they're doing this shit, that's a load of crap.
I remember how up until Halo: Reach Bungie used to include very nice instruction manuals, even now Instruction manuals (if they include them) are now just 1 sheet of paper. There's just no fun in collecting modern games anymore, and it makes me appreciate my physical collection of PS2/Xbox games that have manuals with them.
They were fun to read after coming back from Gamestop back home to play.

Switch game cases even have a couple of tabs for a manual, like they've got a standard size for those, yet I've never seen one and I wonder what a manual for a Switch game would be like exactly

Decent enough videos. He's still a soy and a huge example of a consoomer who uses his social media to show off his oversized collection but he makes decent enough videos except for the ones that have a bunch of skits. He's getting deep into the territory of "vidya YTer getting bored with making videos so now his videos are boring skits."

Switch manuals are actually not a standard size, out of the dozen that I have they're all different size dimensions and have different binding for the spine.

Phew, that's a lot of shovelware.
When Wii games were getting dirt cheap, I tried to pick up whatever I could find for a good deal that I'd figure I'd wanna play in the future, and that really made me realize just how much shovelware's on that console. It's more than you think, even if you think the thing is practically all shovelware. It's also a platform full of landmines, what with so many early games wedging in motions in place of button presses, with no option to not use them.
Not that it doesn't have some spectacular titles. Plus, let's face it, we're never gonna see a port of Punch-Out Wii to anything new anytime soon, thanks to Clown World.
