Sea Of Thieves Xbox/PC Game - No Man Sky 2: Electric Boogaloo

Played about 2 hours last and it bored me to tears. It's an over priced 20 dollars or less game, I'm pretty sure this is why it's on Game Pass. It feels like I'm playing No Man Sky all over again. I feel bad for the people who paid 60 bucks for this shit. I will try again playing to tonight with people and seeing of there's any fun to be had here.

The game is just pirate crew simulator without the pillaging of English trade ships, so of course there isn't much left what a pirate can do.

But hey pirate simulator is pretty novel right now. I can see the fun a group of friends can have with this game.

This is what happens when you don't have any clear objectives in your game. Even No Man's Sky had the whole "get to the center of the universe" thing. It wasn't much, but it was something. In this game, your goal is "just fuck around on your ship until you get bored."

Watched some multi player game play: StoneMountain64 and friends, and even the multi play looked boring. Sail to an island, look for whatever loot and kill skeletons..rinse...repeat.

I heard though that you can be camped at your home base trying to get back to your ship...so that is boring as fuck.

Shame. The game looked fun. I was really looking forward to swashbuckling with some friends and doing quests and stuff. I might have t keep an eye on future updates though as multiplayer game send to improve after launch.

This is what I figured. I've seen maybe 30 minutes of gameplay and that was enough for me. I hate the "it's fun with friends" excuse that's always bandied about in gaming these days. Isn't almost every game fun with friends?

Just buy Salt if you want an island hopping open world game. When it's on sale it's like 7 bucks.

This could be. Rare is stubborn about saying players need to "keep their eyes fixed on the horizon for adventure instead of worrying about getting a +1 sword" and other design statements to that effect. They seem to think a lot of criticism is people misunderstanding the game.

Part of me wants to get behind this, kind of like the same way how back in the day I got into the Minecraft Beta, before there was literally nothing to do but build buildings with either cobble or brick blocks and dig down until you accidentally found a water or lava pool which flooded the entire map. Just pure fuckin' around fun.

Just that in that case it was called a beta and only cost me like $15-$20. This is considered a full game and goes for $60, which is bullllshit.
