Lifschitz, Quinn, Spacedad, Galvez, Nyberg, all of them were on SA at one point. The SA connection would explain a lot of their being involved with this team from the get-go, especially if they were part of the same group that Quinn and friends were involved with.

I've got archives but it's possible this person hasn't posted on SA for a very long time - Nyberg's account was unused for many, many years.

A lot of stuff has been lost to the ages, but there are enough old school SASS posters still around that they might know who you're talking about - they were able to identify Fire's accounts in many different places and under many different names just from how he posts.

I'll got through the previous iterations of the TMT later today and see what I can find.

One of the banhammer recipients - which I remember my friend talking about over and over - was a spectacular sperg who ate multiple bans during subsequent fallout. This particular sperg purportedly had been published in at least a few semi-official materials, too - another connection.

Do you have any idea where/when he might have been published? I have digital copies of Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine, and I could go through them and get the names of any fan contributors if we could narrow it to a particular period (with over 600 issues I'd rather narrow the search down before looking).

Of course, if he was active during 3rd Edition there is the possibility he was involved with one of the third party supplement books put out doing that period; which number in the hundreds. That would count as "semi-official", but would make tracking difficult without more information.

True enough. I'd eliminate NH because there are no ghost towns on the coast. Maine would be a definite possibility. Rhode Island would be a weird one, only due to saying any town there is an hour away from civilization/fast food.
