Chris is actually being surprisingly non-narcissistic and nonchalant about this because he underlines that his "friend" thought that it might be a jab towards him instead of making it a personal reaction. But honestly, even if it was a coincidence, the staff at Sega would've probably known it's implications and chuckled at it.
If it is an inside joke at Chris, it's probably a better way to deal with him than attempting to drag him into court. And, if it's true, it's way funnier than a cease-and-desist letter.

TL; dr: Chris being Chris. Sega couldn't care less, but remember: this is the guy that believed that Miyamoto and Nintendo were honestly interested in create a Sonichu game. I can't wait all the paranoia fueled debris. I don't think this is Saga worthy, not yet but still...

I'm pretty sure some poor intern at Sega gets to sort out the thousands upon thousands of ween letters/emails/comments about Chris. The blue-arms tard rage has been funny enough to share, so they might as well troll him a bit.
I don't think the writers care enough about one loser to read his comics and make a joke about something he and his imaginary friend dislike.
Sega's Marketing Department knows about him from dumb YouTube and twitter comments -the chubby girl they used to employ for promotional material made a joke about Sonichu. Sega's legal department knows about him because of weens sending thousands of missives, hoping to ruin him -as if he weren't already a ruin. No one else at Sega has heard of him and Sonichu is just another of thousands of fan characters created and ignored.

I don't think it's COMPLETELY outside the realm of possibility.
Writers and artists get bored when working on someone else's property. And any writer who was working on this show would probably be doing some research on Sonic, as well as fans of Sonic - a place in which Chris comes up kinda prominently. We've all fallen down the rabbit hole, so I don't think it's totally impossible that a researching show writer might do the same. The writers for these things are nerds just like anyone else. It wouldn't mean that Sega itself has taken notice - just one guy sitting in front of his computer working on a script.
I've definitely slipped a few lolcow references into games and other things I've worked on, though none as prominent as a Sonic cartoon. Not to get their attention or anything - just because this is a fun community of weirdos.

It's funny to see him get worked up over it, but it's still too much of a stretch to think Sega are out to troll Chris. Only Chris (and people who think too much about Chris) would think giant corporate entities were going out of their way to make fun of him.
