Series that were longer then you thought - AKA: they made another season of this?

Have you ever watched a series only to find out there was another season? Imagine watching a whole show only to find out that there was another season you’ve never seen.
A good example would the 2000’s reboot of George of the Jungle and it’s rather bizarre second season. Like, no joke, I vaguely remember watching the original show as a kid and having no real honest opinion on it. But then I found out that it had another season that was just a bunch of bizarre almost DeviantArt tier fetish crap. Needless to say, it was interesting. Thinking about inspired me to make this thread. Have you ever witnessed this kind of media phenomenon yourselves?

I'm not big into anime and one of my friends is. Awhile back he suggested I check out One Piece and see if I might like that.

Looked up the Wikipedia article on it to get a basic idea of the premise and saw that it has over 900 episodes and no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Fuck. That.
If your friend suggest you watch Detective Conan do yourself a favor and falcon punch him in the cunt.

As far as weeb cartoons go, I watched Slayers, Mushishi, and the Mysterious Cities of Gold (a Japanese French production, so it's half-weeb,) severla years ago. I enjoyed them, and then I discovered recently that Slayers and Mushishi had additional seasons made long after the first ones, but that they weren't very good. MCoG also got a sequel series in 2012, but I'm not sure if I want to watch it, even though I haven't heard anything bad about it. I've changed over time, and so has most of my tastes. I'm afraid I would try to watch sequel series to works I once enjoyed, and be disappointed that I was having a different experience from the one I had before, even if the sequel series manages to capture the essence of the original. There's also the fact that the animation in the sequel might suck thanks to all of the corner-cutting that CG allows today. I absolutely loved the hand drawn animation of David MaCauley's original Castle Documentary, but the animation in his Mill Town documentary made 30 years later seemed sub-par at best. I know CG makes animation cheaper, but it also makes it look cheaper, if you know what I mean....

I can't believe Deadliest Catch is still running new seasons. There are only so many stories they can do about working on a crab boat. I get it, its tough, dangerous work that does'nt always pay off. Only so much you can do with something like that.

I also can't believe M*A*S*H lasted as long as it did.

Curb your enthusiasm. I honestly thought there was only like 20 or 30 episodes because I kept seeing the same ones on late night tv reruns.

Every single Musical performance or talent show where the audience votes. To me that whole genre was dated with American Idol back in the late 2000s and I don't know who is actually watching these shows anymore.

Soap Operas. At this point I think they're just keeping them around as legacy TV. I don't understand how enough people can watch those shows these days to justify them remaining on air.

Law and Order SVU is on season 21 and I have no idea how.

Supernatural. They've been on ten seasons longer than they should have and its only just now I think they're canceling the show. When the best thing you've made in 10 years was a crossover with Scooby Doo you know its time to end it.

MCoG also got a sequel series in 2012, but I'm not sure if I want to watch it, even though I haven't heard anything bad about it. I've changed over time, and so has most of my tastes. Personally i would not recommend the sequel series, its too kiddy and loses a lot of what made the original show good.
