Everybody knows that Sonichu is one of the worst if not the worst drawn (and written) comic to ever grace the internet. The real question is, why can't Christian draw to save his life? The guy is in his mid 30's and his art still looks like his niece/nephew drew it...except for the fact he doesn't have any little ones in his family that we are aware of and/or have been extensively catalogued by the CWCki and Christorians. Andrew Dobson of all people has considerably better art and he's just as much of a lolcow as Chris both as a person and as an artist.

We all know Chris thinks his art pieces don't stink one bit, but what truly baffles me personally as an artist is why he hasn't gotten better in the 10 years since the legendary zero issue of Sonichu was published.

Compare....

And contrast....

The only difference I can think of between 2004 and 2015 is that Sonichu looks slightly and I mean slightly better in the 2015 drawing.

I'd like to take this opportunity at this time to show off a few pieces of my art so I don't come off as just another guy talking shit about Chris's art without anything to back up his statements

This is from a decade ago when I was in third grade and decided one evening I was going to make my own legend of Zelda comics which I did up until 2009 I want to say.

This is from 2007 when I was in sixth grade and wanted to make my own original Bionicle comic book/manga ala Sonichu as far as OC self inserts go. Yes I colored this in with crayons and drew on lined notebook paper, but again, I was in sixth grade when I drew this.

This is from 2009 when I finally decided to make a Bionicle comic *cough* I mean "manga" and I use that term very loosely as I was still trying to get a grip on how to draw animu style. I was also still in middle school albeit one grade higher when I started my Bionicle fan comic so I can still be forgiven for not being able to draw better at the time.

Finally, this is from the other day. I will admit I did use a reference image for the piece, but the rest is all me! Compare how I drew the woman in this picture to the "woman" I drew in the previous image about 6 years ago.

The point I was trying to make with those pictures of my personal art is that in 10 years time, I've improved my art considerably and have even had people in the past both irl and online on my old old DA account (which I've since deactivated due to lack of use) comment how well I've come along in my craft yet I'm still humble as I know I cannot even begin to match the truly great artists of DA.

Chris on the other hand has stagnated/devolved for over 10 years not to mention he was in his mid twenties and living at home with his parents with ample loads of free time when he drew the zero issue! Being autistic myself ableit an aspie with a semi touch of it, it both boggles and frustrates my brain to no end how there are nearly no differences between his earlier works and his recent Sonichu for smash bros propaganda!

I'll agree that when he first drew Sonichu his senior year of high school and when he drew him a month ago, Sonichu looks a good bit different between 2000 and 2015. Anything after 2004 though is up for massive debate imo! We know he at some point (around the time he met Megan in 2005?) in his artistic career began copying animu, but that's not so much an improvement as it is Chris trying and failing at making his Crayola drawings a little less awful.

I've been drawing on and off most of my life yet I've slowly improved my art in the last several years.
What's Chris's excuse for I feel that laziness is far and away from being the main reason why!

No he hasn't improved.
He still comtinues to use the same medium and style.
He has not considered any other practice or equipment.

You would think with all the time he wastes on the internet alone, he would notice other peoples art and think to himself "hmmm maybe I should trying copying that technique/style in my own art" I'll admit thanks to my semi photographic memory, I've been able to at least somewhat copy what I see in other peoples art and make it my own!

Thanks for pointing that out! You should now be able to see my art. :)

Indeed, on a personal note I sort of can relate - just the other day I dug up some shit from second/third grade and I apparently tried to make some comic based on werewolves. A more accurate statement of what little I made is "a cow with 2 x 4 planks for limbs that stepped on spilled tacks" than "werewolf." I don't even like werewolves that much anymore:lol:

However, for Chris, it bears pointing out that he actually has virtually no artistic skill period. Almost everything he's done is really just a traced image, sometimes with "modifications" ala Sonichu himself.

He did. Back when he and Megan were still on good terms, he totally tried turning Sonichu into some more anime-based shit in the style. What occurred was total failure but is how he tends to draw everything nowadays. But that change only occured because Chris actually percieved that his art was not in the style that Megan liked, so he sought to correct that problem. Otherwise, you have to remember that Chris thinks he's Godbear's gift to creation itself - the idea of erasing lines over and over vs only drawing something once and simply trying to cover up a mistake (not helped by his preference for a badly held pen over a pencil) will always see the latter win because it's less work.

A few forum iterations ago, someone pointed out that t his drawing hasn't improved over the years, and shouldn't be taken as a sign of laziness or lack of artistic talent but rather as a sign of a personal style that can take years to develop. We're dealing with a master here, on par with Picasso, Van Gogh, da Vinci, and other foreigners.

Chris doesn't want to improve because he already believes his art is "perfect." He can't take anyone criticizing his work because he was never really given any real advice on how to improve (If he did, it's safe to assume he ignored it).

Simple answer. Chris thinks his art is better than DaVinci so he doesn't try to improve.
Long-winded answer. Chris never practiced and never took art classes beyond high school. His entitlement complex also makes him feel like he should deserve to win everything because he is autistic. This is why he expects that Shigeru Miyamoto and Reggie Fils-Aime to run to him to help Sonichu become a global franchise. Any day now.

To add: Andrew Dobson went to art school and did not improve either. He's just as lazy as Chris.

He doesn't need to do that. Ideas from cartoons Chris saw or video games are good enough for him as far as copying/stealing ideas go. To do that would mean improvement, which would mean working hard to make his art look better, which would mean too much time and effort for someone like him.

This is also a theory I've been thinking of he doesnt see anything inheritly wrong with his works. Most artists often go for a style which is simple and quick, though Chris' understanding of how much effort goes into it is at a childs level. For him, the concept of shading is based down to scribbles on the floor, which can be traced down to him finding a style early during his years and sticking to them.

Also Chris traces. Constantly which does help people understand certain styles but doesnt help with practice

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Chris's art will never truly improve until he spends 8 hours in a room high as a kite with nothing but paper, pencils, crayons and markers. Then we'll see some real shit.

Correction: I asked one time "What if Chris smoked weed errrday?" and it was Marvin who suggested he be stuck in a room with drawing materials. Whatever the case it was still hilarious.

The same reason Chris has never really improved in any substantial way at anything. Back in '04 when he drew that first picture you posted he was sitting around with an attraction sign trying to get a sweetheart. Now it's '15 and guess what Chris does? Sits around at a bar handing out business cards to lesbians.

It's just how Chris is... it's kinda like a lovecraftian entity of unexplainable horror.

I guess his style's changed a bit. Improved? Nah. Still looks like something a constipated 8 year old drew while trying to push out a foot long dook. His ego has him convinced that there is no room for improvement and that this is truly his magnum opus. Guess you can chalk it all up to his parents patting his ass and saying, "Good job, son! You're truly an amazing artist!" and then realizing, "Oh shit, they must be right! There's no need for improvement at all!"

But since you seem to be saying you're supposedly a better artist than Chris, can you draw better porn that he can? While he pretty much sucks at everything else, his Rule 34 is worthy of praise for being completely anatomically correct.

ANYONE can draw better porn than Chris, but I'm not sure if sexually stimulating images would be allowed on here even if I did draw one on the spot.
