I really wish he would be more assertive in his rights. I understand he's skittish about lawsuits but the number of times I've seen him take down a video with a bogus copyright strike against it rather than counter claim is insane, his content so blatantly falls under fair-use provisions that only a lunatic would pursue a case (and he only ever gets hit by the corporate content-ID bots anyway). It looks like MGM DMCA'd his latest review of Stargate Atlantis.
I can only imagine the number of hours he's lost and the amount of stress he's added to his life by trying to take what - at face value - seems like the path of least resistance on this. Say what you will about Adam Johnston from YMS (and there's plenty to say...) but he knows his rights and would have been driven from the web long ago if he let himself get screw over the way Chuck does. Hell, Chuck himself has talked about how the show nearly went belly-up after being driven from Youtube a decade ago over the first wave of copyright strikes and was only saved by Linkara helping him get set up over on BlipTV. The 'pray they get distracted and start kicking someone else' strategy doesn't work and it especially doesn't make sense when the other party is the one in such clear violation of the law in the first place.
