OK this is going to be salacious but I think Ryland might be a feeder legit.

In my search for an unlisted video by a different YTer, I came across Shane's unlisted videos. Unsurprisingly, it's mostly videos of Destery, Bobby, and Drew.
On July 18th, 2020, he unlisted his "My Eating Disorder" video that he made in October of 2014. It's quite possible that he just wanted some privacy around this part of his life, and I intended to respect that and keep it to myself. But then I remembered the conspiracy post from two weeks ago as well as all of the weird screen shots from the SD subreddit. It looks less like wanting to close a chapter on his life than wanting to upload new content related to it without being caught in a lie from his old content. (Well all know how well that worked out for Tati, lol)

10/20 According to u/elvenking4 in this comment, "Jeffree actually mentioned in one of his Instagram stories about a month ago saying how he has been filming something about his weight gain and his experiences in the gym recently, or something along the lines of this. 11/10/20 Jeffree uploads a video in which he mentions how he's on some new fitness or diet thing and how that's "transformative" in both a physical and psychological sense. He said he would be uploading content about that soon (he has not yet as of 11/25/20). Here's a streamable clip with the mention.
11/11/20 Shane mentions that he edited a video about Ryland eating 10,000 calories in one day.
11/13/20 He promos Jeffree's new palette. No one has uploaded screen shots of the other parts of his IG story. Based on only this slide, he's taking an opportunity to stan J* again. Ryland 10,000 Calorie Challenge video is uploaded on this day. The cropped version of the 10,000 calorie video is here. Shane comes in at the end and appears very concerned for Ryland's health. This is the part of the video where he and Ryland both heavily reiterate that binging and purging, even if unintentional, is unhealthy and should not be encouraged. It's interesting to note that Shane's role in this video is one of someone who has enough first hand experience with the topic to speak as an authority, while also using a expert (the trainer) to back up ideas he introduces (like his videos featuring Kati Morton or when he hired a lie-detector in that Bobby Burns Is Going To Murder Me For Clout video). He also gives the final judgment on whether Ryland should work out and continue the challenge.
11/19/20 Someone in this SD thread mentioned that he has been showing up in Rylands videos recently, which prompted me to search through his content and find the clip of Shane in the 10,000 cal vid.
11/27/20 Shane uses the completely avoidable death of his cat to gain sympathy and push his merch on Instagram. This is further evidence that he exploits and monetizes any opportunity. If he is shameless about using the death of a pet to portray himself as a victim and elicit sympathy, why would his ED be any different?
11/28/20 On IG, Shane says says "I know I haven't posted in a long time and I promise I will come back soon and talk about stuff." He then promotes an old video of his about Christmas. The song has a pedophilia joke and sexually explicit jokes. He says he does not approve of the jokes he made, and instead of deleting it he continues to suggest it anyway to his largely under age fanbase. It's clear that in the months he's been gone he has refused to even look at his own behavior, much less work on it.

I don't follow Shane, J*, or anyone related on any social media platforms so my information could be incomplete, but it looks like he has casually mentioned something adjacent to body image or disordered eating habits in almost every public post. I'm no detective, but based on what we know about Shane's manipulative behavior, this does appear to be intentional.

Eugenia absolutely loves Jeffree Star Cosmetics. She sings his praises in almost every beauty-related video on her channel. Here are the thumbnails of her videos post-documentary. I've unblurred only the physical JSC products and logos she puts in her thumbnails and Shane's face. The white text indicates that she has (or likely has) mentioned at least one JSC product and used a hand-mirror sold by JSC. The grey titles indicate unrelated content. I am not joking when I say that she does almost as much JSC promotion as J* does on his own channel. In (TW for this image) this Colourpop video, she has JSC products displayed more prominently than the ones she's reviewing.
It's interesting that Colourpop was sending Eugenia free promo post-documentary, but stopped as her condition declined. J* sent her all of the SDxJSC products for free, but she purchased the Blood Lust collection herself. I don't know if she purchased the newer palettes or received them for free.
She's been tweeting about JSC and Shane about once a month. It's always something benign that triggers people to get mad at her, and she's realized that people really get mad about Shane and J* lately.
She also uploaded this rant video titled "How I Feel About The Internet Lately... | GRWM" on 8/2/20. The content is the same as the tweets. It's difficult to tell if she's talking about a specific scandal or the comments she gets to her increasingly passive-aggressive posts.
I'm not adding this information to imply that Eugenia is part of this plot. Although that would be a fun theory. She's more likely doing it for selfish reasons. She knows that he's problematic. We've been telling her for years. She enjoys the controversy because it gets her views and drives people to her ultimate goal; inadvertently feeding her ED with their rightfully concerned comments. She's doing what any other youtube troll is doing but in a passive-aggressive way.
By doing this repeatedly, she's associating her name and image with JSC and Shane. I do see how J* and Shane could exploit this relationship if they are pivoting to ED/Body Dysmorphia content for Shane's return to youtube.
A theory that could happen given all of these factors:
Shane makes a documentary about J*. They focus on Jeffrey's history of sugar addiction and possibly binge eating. Shane can act as both an authority figure on body dysmorphia/eating disorders and a shoulder to cry on. He will probably have at least 3 break downs as well. Shane is free to exploit his existing eating disorder to evade criticism over his canceling and get sympathy. Less likely, but maybe they contact Eugenia and interview her. On the extreme end, they might try to copy Jaclyn's genuine effort to help Eugenia by tricking her into going back into rehab. They pat themselves on the back for being heroes and ignore any of the consequences of their actions.

lol is he fucking serious. some dummy just bought them a cat. their other kitten JUST got mauled by one of their dogs because of their own negligence which they acted like huge victims about. buying animals as gifts isn't a good idea to begin with but this is whole other level of stupid. a smarter drama-mongerer would have at LEAST kept this cat under wraps until they made sure it could live in their house.

youtube is full of shane hot takes, but my recent favorites are nick diramio's. he's an LA chubby film faggot but unlike shane, can actually throw shade and be funny (and also seems to know first thing about film making)
Anyone can criticize Shane Dawson, but this guy actually explains why his cinematography, screenwriting, and acting are bad, giving legitimate constructive criticism from someone in the "industry" in the process. And I'm not even into faggy youtube commentary. Good rec @bitter heaux.
