While participating in fandoms, I stumble upon exposé Google Docs which detail transgressions of content-makers. I find it mighty entertaining to read them, whether the transgressions detailed are serious or insignificant. I believe this is the most fitting thread to dump these docs in whenever I find them, as they most often have to do with people arguing over drawn and written porn.
The doc I have today is a Gorillaz fandom doc which comes from an Instagram account dedicated solely to calling out other fandom accounts. No TL;DR, as it is dense with receipts and should take about fifteen minutes to get through. The transgressions described are all the classics: tasteless drawn pornography, engaging with minors, and debating paedophilia. There is also a somewhat rare one of trolling people who complain about artworks.
As an aside, Gorillaz fandom is ridiculously toxic for its small size: constant discourse over 2Doc which spills into harassment of both sides, personal drama between prominent posters, looking too deep into Noodle sporting a skinbyrd haircut, crying over NFTs, and complaining that the band is not what it used to be. At this point, 4chan Gorillaz threads in /mu/, /cm/, and /y/ are the most chill places for discussion.
My take on the doc: everybody is dumb and cringe. Purposefully antagonising antis is imbecilic and immature. Engaging with minors on sexual topics while being a porn artist is asking for trouble. Getting pissed over people drawing degeneracy is asinine. Maintaining an account dedicated to policing the fandom shows the person has nothing better to do.

A common theme with crappy ships, or crappy shipping fandoms, is needing an enemy or needing character assassination. Something about certain ships appeal to vengeful or egotistical personality types and Harmony sounds like it's easily the latter. The boy who lived with the smartest girl ever appeals to all sorts of arrogant motivations.
I actually like it because it makes it obvious what it's all about. It's a lot better than people who pretend to have nuanced and sophisticated reasoning for what is nakedly biased and subjective.

Okay you do have a point there actually. His dislike for Rue adds to that too since she claims herself to be Mytho’s girlfriend—I guess one does have to expect a fair amount of homoeroticism from an anime about classical ballet stories.
I still recommend anyone watch it, as an aside to the thread topic. It’s unique and sweet and passionate and I just like it a lot

My favorite trope is when the reviled character is "hypocritical" or "a liar". The latter can become circular right away and the former is almost always the hater just inferring what ought to be discarded as simply out-of-character but holding onto it anyway (also circular).

Bryan Fuller, the man in the embarrassing t-shirt here, is the showrunner of that recent-ish Hannibal tv series. Today I learned that he has a rabid following of hannibal/clarice shippers who hate him for not including a character he never had the rights to in his homoerotic fanfic.
I can barely tell what this guy is accusing Fuller of doing. Sexism I guess? Because he didn't utilize a character that he legally could not have used.

Byran Fuller is a big supporter of the Hannibal fandoms shipping of Will and Hannibal (which is also the dominate ship in said fandom) so he is constantly on the shitlist for Clarice/Hannibal shippers. The person ranting is just another one of those who doesn't understand that because of the weird rights situation they have the rights to a bunch of Hannibal content but specifically not Silence of the Lambs. MGM owns the rights to that along with any characters introduced in it (Clarice) but Hannibal TV is working with the person that owns the rest which includes characters like Will, Hannibal, and many others (same person was also still interested in working with them on a new season). I remember back when there were first talks about a fourth season Fuller asked if the fans would want a new season to feature Clarice but Will wouldn't be in it and it was a pretty resounding no from the Hannibal fanbase to go without Will. After 3 seasons building up the dynamic between the two the show has pretty much become Hannigram center so most fans of the series have no interest if it doesn't include the two of them.
It's so weird to see any drama directed at Hannibal TV because its fanbase is one of the chilliest, in part due to the subject matter keeping out a lot of people and how there's only really one main ship. Even their tumblr tag (hell, even the subreddit), usually pretty awful places, are just full of memes, fanart, and plot discussion. I can pretty much guess that the person ranting is specifically not in the fanbase, kind of wacky to see the gay "non-canon" ship being the normal one in this situation compared to the straight "canon" ship. Usually it's the other way where the crazy shippers latch onto.
Ah, good one. I'm not exactly pro-shipping but I'm definitely anti-harassment.
If you see someone shipping a ship you don't like (even if it's 'problematic'), just click back! They're doing it to bait attention.
The problem with antis is that they're neck-deep in their morals, they lose sight of rationality and decency that they go out of their way to send hate to some rando that shipped Sonic with Knuckles instead of Shadow.

I recently saw an "anti" ranting about Wincest because "incest is immoral even in fiction as everyone knows fiction=reality" all the while defending their real person fics about J2.
But sure it's better to write invasive demeaning junk about real life people then to write stories about fictional abult brothers having consensual (most of the time) relations.
Bet if one day one of the actor's kids stumbles on a fic of their dad having sex with his cast mate they might feel very differently. I know I'd be pissed if I found stories like that about my loved one's.

The Hannibal tv show was actually pretty good.
The weird relationship between Will and Hannibal is at least handled better than Clarice and Hannibal in the books. In the books, Clarice falls madly in love with Hannibal for no reason really. Like chops off her own hand for him love.
Plus the actors on Hannibal all just chew the scenery, dancing between camp and drama, and has some of the best cinematography on television.
It’s not like the books are high art and most of the characters they’re bitching about barely exist in the books beyond a sentence or paragraph.
