Basically, post about the cheap shit you wound up with because you said "I can buy the cheaper version" instead.

Just happened to me today. I was at the store to my more headache medication, and everything was priced 10+ dollars or more, to which I thought "Pfft... sure." Then I found one for a glorious 3.99, only to read the box AFTER coming home.
Headache medication full of caffeine with so many warnings, you'd be better off buying your medication from a guy in a trench coat.

I bought a cheap, clip-on Bluetooth game controller for my android phone, made by a company called Ipega. The input lag is like 2/3rds of a second, making it unusable.

The supermarket near me, Sainsbury's, sells own-brand coffee that's cheaper than Nescafe/Douwe Egberts etc. I bought some and it tastes horrible, it tastes like it's gone stale.

I have an inverse story too:

I bought "Oakley" replica sunglasses on those Chinese sites, fully aware they were knockoffs. I'm no diva or anyone like that; I personally can't stand the Oakley brand at all, I just love really weird cool designs on stuff, and they seem to excel at that.
The replicas were solid, excellent sunglasses at 1/10th the price, and best of all, I got what I wanted without having to pay money to an egotistical as all fuck brand who thinks mere sunglasses are worth almost thousands of dollars a pair.

So, you can find cool stuff too, so long as you're aware of details.

One time I bought cheap headphones for myself. Thought I was making a smart choice with money saving until they broke the next day.

Knockoff sunglasses can be pretty nice. Years ago a bunch of guys were buying Oakleys and I wanted to join in but there's no way in hell I was paying 200 bucks for fucking sunglasses so I bought a knockoff pair in Singapore. They were completely identical except they said Oakey instead of Oakley. At one point the guy two racks below me somehow grabbed mine on accident instead of his real ones and it took him nearly two weeks to realize they were knockoffs. Not bad for a knockoff pair I paid 20 sing for.

If you want the real kicker with Oakleys, the devout fanboys actually spend tons of money on them and then only keep the real pair on display and wear knockoffs, since the real pair are too valuable.

Doesn't that render all the traits that MADE the stupid things so pricey irrelevant, and prove the knockoffs are virtually identical?

Never pay for logos, is my stance. Two identical T-shirts, one is non-branded, worth 5 dollars, the other has GAP on it, and it's 10x that. If being cheap (ie, sensible) is evil, then I'm destined for the lowest level of Hell.

There's a cartel on Youtube whose only goal is trolling retards like myself into thinking this particular brand of coffee made in Vietnam and sold by the Dollar Tree was actually decent. I've bought food from there that wasn't bad, so I didn't think much of it. I was so giddy when I got home, thinking I had gotten out of paying six dollars a week. When I opened the package, it smelled like a cross between a nail salon and a laundromat. I should've just tossed that shit out right away, but I think I was in denial. It tasted exactly how it smelled, and I had to do a couple clean cycles on the machine out just to get the taste out of it. There's just some things you can't jew. :c

I was broke, went to my ex's house to see if he had any booze. He was dry too so we all scraped up some change and sent his buddy off to the store. I wasn't expecting anything stellar off of less than five bucks. But he comes back with a six pack of Natural Ice. Mother fucker is all proud of himself, giving himself pats on the back. The stuff tasted like old watered down ass. Would have rather just stayed sober than had tried that cheap nasty crap.

I bought a shitty table saw to tide me over until I could afford a proper one (read 400 quid I didn't have at the time). It rattled itself to pieces in about fifteen minutes and I nearly lost a finger when the motor housing and blade detached from the underside of the table, rode up the wood and impacted the riving knife. So that went in the skip.

I also dropped money on Mass Effect: Andromeda

I'd like to say PSP. But I did actually get some enjoyment out of it. And it provided much needed light and entertainment during Hurricane Sandy. It was just freshly charged. My DS was near death. Luckily our lights weren't out too long because PSP doesn't last all that long. But a whole night with bad weather and nothing to do sucks. I just didn't care all that much for the system as a whole. I'm a DS fag.

So I think maybe I'd say this $50 dress I really wanted. But they only had large and small. Mediums always sell out first. So I figured it's a winter dress that you are supposed to put a sweater or blouse under anyway. How bad can a large be? In the fitting room it seemed to be ok. But when I got it home I found that the straps were for giant ham shoulders. And they were not adjustable. There was a button on each strap. But they were just decoration. So I had to always deal with the straps falling down. I could have taken it to the tailor and had them fix it. I'm sure something could have been done. And since it was a very warm and useful dress I should have. These days I barely wear it unless it's really really cold. But yeah, don't buy something that's too big just because you really want it. I should have just went to another Macy's or checked online.

Kind of the opposite, but I've had two expensive Corsair PSUs die on me despite them being regarded as a high quality brand by just about everyone.

I also have had horrible experiences with Samsung TVs despite them being highly regarded. I had a top of the line (for the time) LCD die on me after a few months six or seven years ago, and before that I had a really crappy experience with one of their "nicest" CRT models before flat panels were mainstream. Since then, I've bought two Vizios. Half the price, and never have had a problem with either of them.
