Shitty animated movies. - Showcasing lazily-written cash grabs with mediocre CGI and washed-up voice actors.

Is that an actual dubover of Gundam or did they just borrow Char Aznable's character design?

From my poverty-stricken childhood, I give you A Snow White Christmas. I was convinced it was the actual Disney Snow White because I had never seen a Disney movie.

There was also this thing, nobody recalls how it ended up at our house.

Brazil has a interesting place in the history of CG animated films, they produced the second ever movie of the genre, "Cassiopeia", just some months after Toy Story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiopeia_(film)

The legend says Disney sabotaged the production and spent a shitload of money at pixar in a desperate move to became the first ones.
Interesting if that was the case (going by the production history Wiki states). Apparently Brazil's first animated feature goes back to the 1950's with "Amazon Symphony", what appears to be essentially their take on Disney's Fantasia using orchestral music to tell several folk tales.

Seems Brazil's always had a history of ripping off American animators. Interesting.

Also, because Pehlan and co. reviewed this trainwreck of a film recently...

A lot of countries did apparently. Usually out of necessity or inspiration due to limited resources in their respective lands.

Damn, reminded of another Indonesian 'masterpiece' I paid a buck to see for myself!

Now that I bring up Joseph Lai again, I'm reminded of their other more familiar logo of merit to mention!

It doesn't get any better than that!

I saw that this movie was recently added to Netflix, so of course I had to go look up the trailer.

Amazingly the furs hadn't latched onto Russia's latest bait!

EDIT: I guess that wolf mascot for the World Cup next year filled it.

This pile of shit was never released, yet it still belongs here.
There was another trailer that seemed to have vanish for good, and showed that the animator (yes, there was only one) modeled the dinosaur with a dick.

There's also this thing.
And this info I found on it's IMDB page
The movie's official website remained accessible for several years after the film's release. The last news entry was dated May 24, 2008. The link for its official forum redirected visitors to e621.net, an adult image-sharing site with pornographic furry and "My Little Pony" artwork.

Yeah, this was what happened because someone in Hungary wanted that damn sequel to "Vuk" that didn't happen with the right people.

There was a test for a possible sequel that was using the same designs as the first film did (done by Attila Dargay). All we have is this to look at and wished it had happened!

In case anyone wonders what "Vuk", was, here's a trailer for it's US release as "The Little Fox", a personal fave of mine from the days when Nickelodeon used to run this rather mature look at survival on "Special Delivery". A VHS release for this had to be released twice in an unedited and edited release due to death/kill scenes that were in this.

is there room for terrible south Korean knock-off cartoons?
Space Gundam V, which despite the complete disregard for registered trademarks as seem by its title (changed to "Gandam" in some cases?), is actually a ripoff of SDF Macross. MFW you can't even animate the title card without a vapor trail.

Also, Super Kid. I can't say much of an explanation is required. IT WAS EVEN DUBBED IN ENGLISH.

Space Gundam V is great.
They specifically animate the old VF-1 toy, it's got that noise from Galaga, and Red Areemer from Ghouls and Ghosts.
iirc doesn't it lift the FADE IN from Raideen or something too?
Usually there's actually several layers of ripoff in lolKorea stuff.

This was the pinnacle of Korean Pakuri.

Ironically Chris' favorite VA at the moment voices the titular "Super Kid" here!

Yeah I think the kid enters the robot the same way the guy in Raideen does. A lot of these Korean giant robot knockoff flicks in the 80's often used 70's Japanese shows as their template despite Japan having matured in the type of shows they were doing in the 80's as with Gundam or Macross.

Oh look, another Gundam wannabe!

And to think that Japan would outsource to these people later down the line.

Amazing how times change.

I love how most of the animation here is just a still image of the mecha in front of a rotating background. Almost as intense as your early Pokémon fight scenes.

Pretty much! Every one of these Korean knockoffs follow the same approach, I suppose it's easier than animating shifting perspectives. It's like a TV budget being stretched to fill an entire movie screen, since most of these were seen that way in Korea when they came out.

Makes you wonder how shitty the working conditions of those animators were (and still are).

I'm sure we all think about that sometimes. I always wondered or dank or cramp those kind of places are. Whether they're in cubicles are just stuck in long rows in a large space. I guess we tend to think of the usual sweatshop conditions when it comes to any form of entertainment being cranked out for a quick buck.

And who's involved in this you might ask? You guessed it, J.J. Abrams.
