Just dig into it and squeeze it... eugh. Does the comedone tool actually work? I've got a huge blackhead that's been here for a year.

openthe pore up as much as possible by setting a warm washcloth on it for a while and try; if it doesn’t budge after a few tries, not ready yet; use a scrub on that part and whatever acne products and try again after a few days

i always use mine for the milia/sebum on my nose, never had the pleasure of squeezing a blackhead but once on my ex:/

There is one aspect of fabric softener + hair that I have found helpful:

Keep a dryer sheet on you to rub over your hair if you have a problem with static in the winter. It's just to smooth over the outer surface, not to vigorously rub through all of the hair. It works for me.

Maybe there's a hair specific product for this? Idk but it doesn't add stuff to your hair like a spray would. It doesn't feel like you've added product.

If the winter is particularly dry and cold then my hair can be static-y. I spray a bit of this on my brush before I brush my hair and it helps.

When I was little, my grandmother told me NEVER to comb my hair when it’s wet. She was one of those ladies who went to the beauty parlor every week and had bright red hair until the day she passed. Even today when I get out my shower I still hear her saying, “never when it’s wet!”

I have a question, is there a way to have a good skincare routine that isn't too time consuming and expensive, I see all these people on YouTube talking about all their toners, exfoliation, serums, face masks etc.
Well, I would do two things:
Maximize my cleansing by buying a tool instead of using my hands: A facial brush, a Foreo or a Clarisonic... Or one of the cheap knockoffs. They make a huge difference!
And then I would get one of those Daiso silicone masks to keep a sheet mask in place while you do something else. Sheet masks are a good way to force moisture into your skin, and with a silicone mask on top you can be in front of the computer, read or just go about your business without it falling off. Also, if a sheet mask isn't cheap, you're being scammed. Just go cheap. The expensive ones do nothing that the cheep ones can't.

I tried the toothpaste on a zit trick once.
It burned my skin off.

As for cleansing, I've been using the same face cleanser and cream from Estee Lauder for years, I like them and see no reason to change.
I like the Ponds cleansing balm to remove my makeup, it's inexpensive and works well, and not as greasy as their cold cream is. Once in a rare while I may use a makeup wipe to take off makeup, but have to use my cleanser and water after.

I absolutely LOVE the scent of their cold creams and balms, but it breaks my skin out:/ Lucky you can use them! :lit:

Has anybody tried microneedling/dermarollers?
When I first got into skincare, I grabbed a cheap EBay dermaroller, I went for the shortest one. I followed along to a video. I found it painful. I tried to use it a few times, but noticed the needles bent quick.

With most dermarollers (cheap ones for sure anyways), the little needles get bent pretty easily and I’ve heard about sanitary issues with getting them clean, as to avoid getting a staph infection on your face. I believe the cheap ones are intended to be one use. Although the two smaller sizes (.25mm, .5mm) doesn’t get super deep in the epidermis anyways, but good for at home maintenance.

This video was pretty informative. I like David Lim’s channel, he has a DIY video about dermarolling , but linking his about dermarolling video.
I might consider dermarolling again, since apparently you don’t need to do it very frequently at all, compared to jade rollers and other things you roll your face with.

Dry brushing for keratosis pilaris....... It may work for some skin types, but if you have sensitive AF skin like me, do not do that shit. The only thing that's worked for me thus far is using a saliyclic acid cleanser and coconut oil (weirdly enough it works well for KP) to moisturize.

This is a little off topic, but needs to be said: Fuck Proactiv. Never worked for me nor anyone I know who used it. The mud cream was the only thing that did anything, and that alone could be found for way cheaper. You lied to me, Claire's representative. You fucking lied.
I've never heard anything good about Proactiv. Some people have said it didn't work at all for them, some have said that it works until you stop using it at which point your acne comes back even worse.

My sister tried proactiv, and it caused dry patches while she was using it. Once she stopped, it her acne got worse, and then she went on to accutane. That also didn't work lmao.

Oh! A few pages ago someone was talking about weird yeast infection hacks. I'm surprised no one brought up the ACV one, where you soak a tampon or cotton ball/round in ACV and then shove it on up there. There's also the one where you use a clove of raw garlic. Just go ahead and make a salad in your vagina.

As somebody who suffers from cold sores now and again I've heard of some pretty shitty advice to make them go away. I've never used any of the tips because quite frankly I'm not a fuckwit and Zovirax cream works perfectly well. I do know of one guy at my high school who, desperate to get rid of one before he expected to lose his virginity one weekend (spoiler alert, he did not, nor was he ever going to) tried removing it with a razor blade reasoning the wound would heal quicker than the sore. This went about as well as you can imagine it would.
