Short Film Publishers on YouTube -

Came across a couple of channels a few months ago that publish short films from independent/foreign filmmakers/students. While they tend to be a bit rougher around the edges, you can sometimes find some gems. I know I'm always looking for more places that publish these , so if I'm missing any of the big ones, let me know. It's nice not to have to dedicate 2 hours to watch a movie with a story that could have been told with 1/4th or less of the run time and even if the short's not great, I've only wasted 15 minutes anyway.

Here's some channels I've come across:

Omeleto tends to focus more on smaller character pieces like this:
Xfwz9AtDn8E
jjQBH_hTGEY

Edit: "November 1st" by Charlie Manton was apparently only available for a limited time (a real shame), so here's another video in a similar vein. I swear, every Omeleto video I link here gets taken down, here's a third, this one's in French but has English subtitles:

Screamfest is a horror channel but also has the occasional scifi/comedy like Deep Clean (which has been on most of these channels):

TheCGBros is one of the 3 large animation-focused channels on this list (though they also have effects breakdown videos):

CGMeetup is also focused on animation, with a sprinkling of live action:

Short of the Week is also a website that reviews and promotes short films:
Edit: Had to add a replacement video since "Sister" is now private.

MadArtistPublishing does mostly animation trailers now but still has some short films released (ironically, this one turned into a trailer for a later kickstarter for a longer version):
mUiTHNVPCp8
Edit: MadArtistPublishing was wiped out sometime in late December 2019 by several DMCAs, but is now back.

DUST focuses on publishing science fiction short films/series, there have also been some foreign directors using the channel to reach a wider audience in the last couple of months (the vast majority of their stuff is English):
(Korean)

(Malaysian)

(Russian)

This one's in English and a bit more representative of what they usually publish:

Been enjoying Dust and Omeletto myself of late. Thanks for the additional channels to add to my list.

I've had some fun digging through their archives lately and I love the amount of variety, sometimes you find gripping dramas, futuristic science fiction, detailed character studies, and then other times you find a video showing a middle-aged Napoleon Dynamite getting robocucked:

Edit: Apparently this thread is the youtube version of Death Note because most of these channels/videos have been up for years but we've already lost 2 out of the 10 videos posted and 1 entire channel within three weeks of this thread going up, it's like posting in the Sargon thread has given me his reverse-Midas touch.

Found some more channels:

Alter is a horror channel:

Future Shorts no long uploads, however, they have a large archive of old short films still on the channel itself:

Toshiko Hata uploaded two of his stopmotion shorts 7 years ago. His horror short, Rootless heart, in particular is worth a look:

Continuing the theme of Japanese horror stop motion, here's nariomarudarkside:

Here's a few more (animated) shorts channels I found recently:

Felix Colgrave - (My favorite of the 3 channels I'm going to list in this post) Pretty much everything he does is an animated acid trip, the first work of his that I found was an animated music video but he does short animated films mostly:

Steve Cutts - For those that enjoy a heavy dose of misanthropy with their animated shorts:

Snail's House - This one's not my thing personally but I found it about an hour ago and it seems like a certain section of kiwis would be into it. They release animated music videos with Nintendo-inspired music:

There's Oats Studios which is Neill Blomkamp's channel, famous director of District9 and less famous movies marketed as "from the Director of District 9."
It's mostly scifi/horror shorts. This one's a bit over the top actingwise but the monster looks nice:

Another channel, Dead Sound, that hosts the short films of David James Armsby:
That's a short part of a longer series he's apparently spent years working on piecemeal (you can really see the improvements in animation in the later ones), called Autodale: The Animated Series
Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ5VEKOKH8PCjZJYvjlinBtjjmKV_-dk1 (newest video came out yesterday while I was writing this section)
What makes his channel particularly interesting and unique is that he actually releases making of videos (linked in the descriptions) that fully detail his thought process through each video he puts up on his channel.

Here's another one, ZUTOMAYO, that I'm not able to get much out of due to not knowing a single bit of Japanese outside of the essentials, like "Hello" or "Where's the nearest whorehouse?":
It's a band that releases animated music videos with each of their songs but apparently, all of the videos string together into some overarching story about the main character being reincarnated into each new world and her eventual attempts to break the cycle. I'd imagine the closed captions on youtube would help.
