Considering we're now in the twenty-first century I think it's time we stop living in the 50s and start portraying life the way it is. What do you all think?
Cable TV is a dying medium in this day and age but still more regulated than the internet. Makes little sense to shit yourself over a casual "fuck" thrown here and there but ultimately it's not even up to stations whether or not they want to broadcast something spicier but rather how fucked they'd like to get over by old people reporting their ass for fucking violating the cunt laws of the shit country.
Thank god for internet streaming. And yes, they should allow swearing and violence and boobs on television.
The government should not be in the business of deciding what is and what is not offensive.
As far as children go I think we give them too little credit. I think they're fully capable of understanding mature themes and that involve violence and even sex.
As long as that stuff doesn't become the focus of whatever program it's on. Like on South Park when they come up with "Must Shit TV" because their gimmick was they just say "shit" constantly.
In the UK, the deal’s always been that swearing, violence and nudity are fine after 9.00pm. There are limits - you can’t show an erect penis, for instance. I always found it weird with American TV that they could show a person getting chopped up or whatever, but no one would say anything worse than “damn.”
