Lab-grown meat doesn't have a brain or whatever part vegans don't like destroying so I'd assume it's ok. On the other hand it's still animal matter. What's your opinion?

depends on your reasoning for being vegan. if it's about animal suffering and the environment, then they probably should. but if it's more of a principled decision to not eat fleshy stuff, then maybe artificial meat can be seen as a kind of betrayal.

I lurk around e-vegans and depending on the type of synthetic meat you're talking about the answer is yes or no. Some lab grown meat is grown from a part of an animal and it created some conflict among different vegan e-celebs. That being said, a lot of the common meat replacements that are sold to vegans are made out of "Textured Vegetable Protein" and is able to replicate the texture of meat for recipes like chili, so under the general rule set of "no animal products", that standard TVP stuff is absolutely fine.
