I think so.
Of course, they're all very harmful and all, but people are buying them anyway, and it's creating a lot of criminal activities. If users didn't risk anything for consumption, it would be easier for them to ask for help and get sober too. Honestly i don't see the point in making people face jail sentences for being sick, it's not even dissuading for anyone.

without drug laws though, more blacks would roam the streets and get lighter prison sentences.

i also don't buy the idea that people's behaviors won't change much if they were made legal. just look at the opiod crisis: those things are legal, and if they weren't the problem probably wouldnt be as bad because fewer people would have access to them.

Weed is illegal, everyone's doing it. And people who want to get hard drugs get them, it's not that hard to find ; tbh if you're not seeing any of it it's because you're not the kind of people who buys.
From what i looked up, in countries with harm-reduction policies there's a lot less addictions than in active punishing policies.

On the top layer it seems fine, letting the retards and addicts off them selves. (I’ve got a few in my family that I know I wouldn’t miss), and I’m sure the restrictions on some softer drugs like pot is the work of big pharma companies and the DEA and such.

However legalizing the hard shit will mean ease of access, do you really think making a drug that is hard to detect, knocks you unconscious and causes you to wake up with no memory of what happened, as easy to access as alcohol a good idea. or the main problem of drugs getting into places or hands they shouldn’t be, most hard drugs don’t need as much as a 6pack or a whole container to kill you one or two is enough.

I think that regulations must be under closer supervision for more dangerous drugs, but i don't think that dealers care that much about you oding or not, government will. Access to dangerous drugs is actually easy, and making it legal doesn't mean making it common. By replacing dealers with actual trained professionals, you actually know what's in those drugs. Because street dealers often use dangerous substances to cut what they sell you, or other drugs to make it more addictive.

yes,

the legalization of cyanide would mean i could off myself legally :cunningpepe:

I think euthanasia should be legal too, but that's another story. Cyanide isn't really a drug.

Not all alcoholics have an easy time asking for help or getting sober, and alcohol is legal.

I know, i have alcoholic friends and i've been struggling with addictions, especially to benzos and antidepressants. Asking for help is never easy, but it's even harder when you know that'll put you in more trouble than keeping addicted.

Prohibition is useless- we should have learned by the 1920s, all prohibition does is make organized crime rich, in a way that hides them from any oversight, and create a hugely bloated police/legal/penal system that's a bottomless pit for tax dollars.
