What are some shows from your past you couldn't love more, couldn't watch more, but you never thought to record as they were airing, since they would always be on in your mind?
I feel like we all have them.
And then of course your favorite shows never get DVD releases or only get 1/10 of them available, usually in low quality, or are held hostage for outrageous prices on streaming services (think Amazon).
I think for me the biggest one is Wild West Tech on History. Hosted at first by Keith Carradine, then David. I've always liked anything to do with gadgets or inventions, and the west setting made it even better. I had so much fun with this show and learned so much watching it.
And now that I want it either on tape or DVD or whatever (physical copy), you only have a few episodes held hostage on Amazon for 2 bucks a pop, absolutely insane INDIVIDUAL DVDs released by History (Yes, one episode per DVD at 20 a pop. Are you kidding me? It's not complete either), and since it wasn't a well known smash hit, no torrents, virtually no free uploads, not reshown on TV anymore, so might as well be nothing.
I remember thinking how disappointed I was when I first encountered streaming services and their claim of "WE HAVE EVERYTHING" and being so disappointed when I would search for stuff like this and turn up nothing.
"Everything" means "All the popular shit that is everywhere else." What's the point?
"It lives now, only in my memory."
