Sick of Trans this and Trans that in Fandoms and Social Media - Why It Annoys me Greatly

I am so sick of seeing all these trans words 'transcum' 'transmeds', etc. in the news, in fandoms, and on social media.

It's so stupid. I am part of the minecraft fandom and it feels like since Notch stated that trans women aren't real women (which they aren't) everyone is transpositive or some shit. Making Herobrine into a trans-icon of sorts and claiming Steve and Alex are nonbinary.

Every other username or user on tumblr who makes fanart supports this idea that trans is good. No it isn't! Call me simple minded but I think that approving a mental disorder and saying it's okay to cut off your cock and balls is just one step closer to saying that necrophilia or pedophilia is okay.

You have people like 'Jessica' Yaniv who use their transgender identity as a sort of shield against the throngs of angry people who see him as a pedophile. With Canada being as 'woke' as they are I would not be surprised if he got away scott-free.

Sorry for the mini rant but what are your guys thoughts on the matter? Also I hope I made this thread correctly.

Headcanons always were a thing. Transness is a trending one right now.
Is it a good thing? I dunno. As a someone who presents their stories to a public, i would prefer to not see headcanons. Story works because of characters, presented in it, and changing their characteristic can easily ruin a narrative. This is a disrespect to an author - saying that you know better who their characters are.
On other hand - let them be. It's a trend, in fer years there will be other thing, that will be popular.

It's fine to have headcanons but when you act aggressive and mean when someone says a character isn't trans then it's annoying.

I'm more annoyed about people who have a problem with aged up character fanart and try to defend the rights of child characters who aren't real people. If they put that much energy into defending fictional characters as they did actual children then maybe there'd be less sexual abuse.

The massive influx of headcanon bullshit should be expected at this point in culture. A wise Kiwi once described the Internet to me as the 'physical manifestation of the astral plane' and I think he's really on to something. People are desperate to see their own subjective truth mirrored in the world around them.
Besides, if people are willing to spend the money and effort that they do on simply denying the truth (i.e. Katie Charm), why shouldn't media be as flexible? Everyone's defining their own realities these days, whether it be through ideology, drugs or a combination of the two.
