One interesting tidbit about the channel you don't see brought up that often is its involvement with the We Are Number One meme. There is a video explaining the history here, but I'll also spell it out.

On 2 September 2016, a rip of Hilltop Chase from Kirby Super Star Ultra was posted, with the joke being We Are Number One.

Eleven days later on 13 September, We Are Number One - LazyTown: The Video Game gets posted, which is just a montage parody remix of the song in question

Somehow, the video blew up, and currently sits at a little less than 3M views, being the channel's second most popular video.

From there, the meme exploded into the mainstream, thanks in no small part to YouTubers like MrMrMANGOHEAD really forcing it...

The channel's relationship with PSY - Gangnam Style is also noteworthy, though less so than We Are Number One.

Gangnam Style was mainly just an on-running joke in the channel's earlier years, commonly appearing in mashups, many of which were made by Triple-Q.

What's funny to me is that up until July 2017, well into the channel's lifespan and common usage of the song, Gangnam Style was the most viewed video on YouTube. When it began to get overtaken by a Wiz Khalifa song and Despacito, Triple-Q tweeted out a picture of the stats along with the fact it was soon going to lose its #1 spot (I would have archived the tweet but he got suspended and the tweet was lost). Naturally, siivacord did a world record any% speedrun of the stages of loss:

But the part that's funniest to me isn't the meme, but what came after.

In the lyrics of Gangnam Style, Psy, as part of the chorus, says "Op, op op op, oppa gangnam style." That's a lot of 'op's, so it became a bit of a gay little joke to repeat 'op' in the comment section of Gangnam Style rips. Heck, you can even see in the Acceptance screenshot above that they have 'op' as an emote. This joke was taken to its logical conclusion when a channel in siivacord was created simply named:

Gee, I wonder what they post in th--

Huh, I guess you could say SiIvacord is filled with gay ops!

It is a fun shitposting channel, with good remixes to boot. The only interesting thing about it is some inconsequential background drama by a few members.

Pretty much. I wouldn't have even known about this drama if I hadn't looked in to this thread. You have to know about the Discord to know something is going on. Otherwise, the channel is just full of music. You can still enjoy it. Goddamn, I hate Discord. Nuke all the social media sites.

He’s embroiled in a drama with Mike Pollock and Dillin Thomas over some shit about Antisemitism and he accused Dillin of Antisemitism and when Dillin wanted to get him on stream to discuss his points, he pussied out and likely got people from Siivagunner involved in flagging Dillin’s friends accounts.

I believe some context is in order. The timeline of events is kind of like this:
- two of dillin's friends' twitter accounts get suspended
- dillin insists that snick is responsible and makes several now privated videos calling snick to join him on his livestream to settle it like men
- snick makes several tweets claiming he doesn't care (while still continuing to retweet tweets shitting on dillin) and would prefer to settle it privately, which dillin doesn't acknowledge
- stream happens this morning (also privated), which snick does not show for. Dillin proceeds to go through a giant twitter archive of shit he's done and clumsily attempts to debunk it

the "get his ass" quote was towards a poll dillin made asking if he was an edgy fuck or actually a shitty person. Dillin didn't actually have any evidence that snick was responsible. In fact there was actually some guy who claimed that the ones responsible were a group of anti-fans lurking in his discord who've had a grudge against dillin for years though whether that is true is up to interpretation.

Holy shit I'm glad I checked back on earlier pages just to go over this shit again because god damn that new entry is some serious devolution down into what a few short years back would be considered like peak negative tumblr stereotype behavior. I'm still waiting on like the extra info on the situation one of the other guys in this thread claimed to have before tuly settling on that. There's definitely an involvement of that kind of person here but as to how far gone shit is I can't really say because the product is still high quality to an extent, though that could just be artists being put through the "make product for group then banned from group for clout" grinder I've seen show up in some other places. SCP is a fucking wild ass different beast all together because they tampered with the og scps that people actually cared about. Closest thing you could do there would be SiIva removing/tampering with all content involving funny flintstones or something. It's a bit harder to fuck up.

Yeah it would be impossible for me to tell if the quality has gone downhill because they upload like a thousand fucking videos every day and I usually just listen to the ones from games I play.

The channel quality has not gone down imo, it's kind of hard to mess up their formula. They aren't encouraging HRT within the rips or anything (at least as far as I'm aware), and the jokes remain pretty contained within already-existing in-jokes, irony-bro memes, or general music swaps. I think there's far more stuff to talk about within the SiIva Team members and the fanbase, as that's what even got this thread going in the first place.
