Sorry if this has been covered before but I can't help but wonder if anyone else see a number of similarities between the relationships of Chris and Barb and Norman Bates and his mother.
Think about it. Barb manipulates virtually every aspect of Chris's life in order to maintain control over him. She has convinced him that the world is an evil place and she forbids him to have a life away from her. Chris and Barb live together almost as if they are the only two people in the world. This is seen in Chris's Facebook posts as well where he whines that it's him and his mother against the world. The relationship between her and Chris is neither healthy or normal (as has been noted multiple times on this forum).
The death of Chris's father was one thing. Losing Barb may put him over the edge. I don't think it's that far-fetched to imagine Chris being unable to let go and keeping her decaying corpse amidst the hoard at 14 Branchland Court.
Then there's the whole 'Tomgirl' / cross-dressing thing. Following the Norman Bates theory, this could be interpreted as Chris becoming his mother.
