Sims 3 best sims game - Why even in 2020 I won't play sims 4.

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

So I've played the sims since 13 years old and I've been an avid for a long time. I stopped buying from the sims series since the last ep from the sims 3.
When the sims 4 popped up, I waited until other people started buying before I made a decision.
first and foremost the sims 4 base game sucks.
1. upon launch they lacked key features included in the base game for the sims 3 and 2 toddlers and pools.
2. no in depth customization of clothing or objects, the sims 3 in terms of customization was way in depth with how you can color stuff. nope not in the sims 4.
3.No open world as in the sims 3, it's excusable to not have an open world in the og sims and sims 2 as the time when they were made your average computer may not be able to process the open world thing, but now in 2020 we have to wait for loading screen after loading screen per lot? gtfo with that b.s..
4. THE NEIGHBOORHOOD MENU IS LIKE FUCKING 2D. IN 2020 ITS FUCKING 2D..
The eps.
1. Take an expansion pack from either the sims 2 or 3 and compare it what you'd get for it in the sims 4. The sims 4 is plagued with overly expensive expansion packs that offer very limited content. Like for example the sims 3 supernatural offers witches and vampires amongst other supernatural life states including objects cas and features that change game play all for one expansion pack. But in the sims 4 you have to buy 2 expansion packs for 2 lifestates.
2. Dlc upon expansions pack that cost exactly the same amount as an expansion. Whether you agree with dlcs no dlc should cost almost the same amount as an expansion pack. Especially if the dlc is dependent on an expansion pack. see sims 4 pets and my first pet stuff.
3. the concepts are stupid, I'm not paying 20 dollars just so my sims can knit; they released sewing in sims 2 free time and offered other features.
the community and the shilling.
Part of what makes sims a good game to play is that you the player can control how you want to play. In a sand box game there is no rules, the sims up until the sims 3 seemed like a freeing experience in a game industry that is always pushing in sjw bullshit into their games. Well the sims 4 and their developers are the ultimate shills right now.
1. Mandatory game updates where your required to download shit you may or may not want in your game. Mainly pride shit, and hijab shit. You don't want it in your game? too fucking bad if you don't update can't play your game bigot.
2. Questioning it is discouraged. When the hijab update was announced everyone reed because they called it a cultural thing not what it is a religious thing. A lot of people ate forum bans after questioning it.
3. the gender binary is broken in the sims 4, In stead of making female or male sims you can only choose whether or not they can inpregnate be impregnated or be sterile.
All this shit I've mentioned can be corrected by mods, if I want specific changes made to my game, I use mods. there's no reason ea should force it down our throats. If there's a need someone would surely mod it, but even then if ea wants to release added stuff make it optional.

Rarely played Sims, but that the latest in a series isn't as good, is something I know. The latest games in the Total War series, don't interest me so much.

Does that actually work? Wouldn't the tangled mess of interactions and aspirations and histories still be present in the file?

My method is to move my sim/property to a new town every few years and wipe the social slate clean.
yeah it does. the problem with regular saves is that it's overwrites itself by choosing save as it saves it on a fresh slot. currently I'm making my current household mass produce nectar. I'm on a legacy/polygamy challenge so In gen 1 I'm trying to produce a lot of nectar so as my game progresses it acclumates money down the line.

Thanks for the tip, that will save me some hassle with moving. Though I'll still probably move every now and then to get away from stalkers and jilted ex lovers that can break through my "clean slate" spell. :P

I use NRAAS to clean it up every night. Also disabling memories helps the save fil by a TON.

But yes. Really the only thing I liked about Sims 4 is the island living and how mermaids have a tail in the bath, but that's easily fixed with mods that bring sims 4 stuff into sims 3.

Sims 4 just felt smaller. By not allowing color palettes beyond a fixed amount, the items felt very limited, and it was really obvious that they were relying on custom content creators. Also the reason I suspect they didn't launch with toddlers is the toddler expansion pack (which I will admit, that expansion pack was kinda fun) and therefore making you buy it if you wanted toddlers.

I'm torn because while some of the added stuff was nice (many more options with babies, worksites that weren't rabbit holes [even though sometimes that's ok to have], and I will admit fondness with the CAS and being able to sculpt), sims 4 just felt... smaller, for some reason. No real community in the towns, and it didn't have that "dollhouse" feeling the previous games had.

I pirated my copy of TS3 and NRAAS intentionally deletes older versions so that people like me can't use it.

What can I say? I already bought every TS1 game when it came out. I'm not buying them for a third time.
I bought base game and mermaid expansion, but I pirated stuff packs and other expansions and it's fine with me. Base game's only $20 usually, the expansions are where the price increases (which makes no sense) so I was ok with it. Haven't tried it with Sims 4 though, only had it for a bit before I went back to sims 3. Also having an FPS limiter increases performance immensely, especially on my 6 year old potato laptop.

the expansions suck for the pricing. Like for 20 dollars your only getting a fraction of what they used to include in expansion packs. The only good thing is the more customization in body types but I use custom sliders like a lot. While not the easiest it still works. I can literally spend less and get more. I don't pirate my stuff but I literally topped off my collection for under a 100 the only thing I'm lacking is Katy Perry's sweet treats but I'm waiting for it to go down in price, I literally have all sims 2 game and expansions and the sims complete collection.

Your dedication is admirable.

I know the game goes on a pretty solid sale every Christmas. Maybe I'll pick it up for pennies one of these years.
Dude you have no idea

I've been working on finally making a thread reviewing every single mermaid or mermaid-adjacent movie (and even thinking about doing episode-by-episode reviews for the tv shows). I have my list and everything out there, just need to finally sit down and do it. I think my problem is that I'm too ambitious, as I also want to have everyone be able to watch each with me on lolcow.tv before I review it.

The funniest thing was when I got the Adventures expansion, I was blown away because there was so much stuff it was insane. Like, actual gameplay elements with the tombs and such. It was crazy.

yeah I spent 3 hours building a tomb for my legacy challenge. I'm going for a fictional east Asian monarchy theme for my legacy challenge, so I built a graveyard/temple/tomb so when one of my legacy sims die they have a proper regal resting place. Like it's sectioned off by class such as King Prince princess wife concubine down to servant. I used a lot of the tomb stuff from WA and a lot of the Chinese themed items from that pack, as well as all the stuff MT cakestore had. It's in the custom hood gyeonbeok palace.

Sims 3 is probably my favorite of the Sims franchise. I'm not a huge fan of the series, but it's fun to fuck around in for an hour or two occasionally.

What's with everyone acting like the game destroys their computer though? I have Sims 3 and all the add on packs installed on my old 2015 laptop and it runs just fine.

What is this thread? Sims 4 isnt terrible but yes Sims 3 is good.
sims 4 is terrible when compared to previous versions. like just look at the sims 3 supernatural where they have more than 2 supernatural life states and look at the fact sims 4 has an expansion pack for 3 lifestates. :/ don't tell me that isn't a financial rip off.
