I've noticed there is not a lot of appreciation for siqq slamz and their cousin phat beatdownz in the Music forum, and as a disciple of the slamz I'm here to ask you if you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Saviour the drop-C open chug. For the already initiated, contribute your siqqest.

yes:
phat beatdownz
siqq slamz
cookie monster vox
harmonic pinches
kick runs
wiggercore

no:
clean vox
solos
false grind
Emmure

SIQQ SLAMZ

Best to start with the OG's, Devourment pioneered the genre

slam kings of slantland

runner-ups to the Jap Slam Crown

Russia has always brought great contributions

Instant classic courtesy of the Danes

New York's finest

Belarusian brutality

Czechia coming in heavy with pure filth

California providing the good stuff

PHAT BEATDOWNZ

Kings of wiggercore from NYC

death metal-flavoured beatdown from New Jersey

some of the phattest beatdownz also from NYC

wiggercore veterans with a bona fide lolcow singer

more excellent stuff from, you guessed it, NYC

siqq spiqqcore, both hailing from chicago

more chicago brutality

phat californian bd'z

masters of phattery from Massachusetts

Not really a fan of Slam Death or Beatdown Hardcore, but thanks for mentioning All Out War in this thread. Those guys are an instance of Metalcore done right. I’m much more in favor of '90s Metalcore because those bands sound as much like Metal as they do like Hardcore: Rorschach, Merauder, Ringworm, All Out War, Conviction, Integrity, Earth Crisis, Stigmata, (early) Overcast. God knows why so many musicians wanted to emulate “Slaughter of the Soul” by At the Gates, but that album singlehandedly ruined the genre for me.

I won't be able to contribute much to this thread, but I thought this might interest you, though.

Yeah, old-school metalcore was the shit, especially Ringworm and Integrity. You might like these guys, unfortunately they're on hiatus at the moment

White Power Beatdown
