Moisturize the fuck out of your entire body, every day, even if you have oily skin. You'll age slower. For men especially-- it's low maintenance but pays off.
Especially if you have oily skin! What I've learned from this thread and a few others is that oily skin is the result of your skin being too dry and trying to overcompensate. I've been using a moisturizer twice daily along with my normal routine and my face has been super clear.
Wear sunscreen. Every day. Even in winter.
This is the other super helpful thing I've picked up from this thread and have been doing as much as I can!

Right now at 27 I occasionally get mistaken for 10 years younger, I'm hoping that with care that trend will continue and I'll be a hot-ass grandma. ;)

One of the biggest factors for me has been when I started sleeping with a terry cloth towel on my pillow and changing it regularly. You can change normal pillow cases often too, but terry cloth has a larger surface area.
Water+carbamide lotion works much better for the body (esp. shoulders) than oil based ones imo, but normal lotion is fine for face and hands.
Exfoliating every couple of weeks before applying lotion can work pretty well. Rubbing with normal table salt after a long shower works just fine for this, if you rinse it off after.

Also lads: When you get gasoline or solvents on your hands, carefully wash that shit off and grease your hands the fuck up. It's a little cool being able to sand hardwood with your bare hands but not worth it. Be especially careful with shit like acetone.

The 3 biggest factors in external aging are sun exposure, lifestyle/environment, and of course genetics.

You don’t need a super complicated routine, just one that works.

And sunscreen. Every single day that you leave your house before evening. There’s still a UV index in the winter.

If someone has good hygiene practices and just uses alcohol free witch hazel and a quality moisturizer under at LEAST SPF 30 daily and drinks their water I feel like they’d be fine.

Microblading is a good service, but reaaaally look into the artist’s work (of fresh, healed, AND retouched, because usually the first time it needs a second pass) first.

It looks as natural as eyebrow pencil/pomade if done well and lasts 1-2 years depending.

I put my shower gel into two bottles and add vegetable glycerin to fill them up. Really helps with my dry skin in the winter

I don't have any problems with my skin, but as I am very no bs-approach (I read studies). I don't like sca, but I do like the circlejerk sub.

Anyway.
Isotretinoin (Accutane) is the only thing working for me. As I had hormonal acne. Yes, men can get it too. Since I'm a man, I can’t use spirolactone or birth control pills. Which may be a better option for women, since isotretinoin is easier on the body in men. I have used it 2 times. First after starting tretinoin. My dermatologist didn't even know what happened, I just received a bs explanation on that it was just purging. Like, if you are purging for 6 months. Then it isn't purging, but it really did help to smoothen out my skin.
Second time was 2 years after first course with isotretinoin. Still no real bad side effects. Aside from drier lips and mild discomfort in my spine or some shit. Isotretinoin dries you up inside essentially, but not anything that affected me. I do workout at a gym too, squats, deadlifts and stuff. Even it it affected me more, I would endure it. Because I'm obsessed with my appearance, so having acne gave me PTSD or something. No fillers or anything, my philosophy is to keep it as is.

My routine:
Washing my face with oil cleanser and Cerave hydrating cleanser. Not any fancy oil cleanser, just the cheapest mineral-based one.

BHA > Argirilene on my frown lines and under eyes > serum with green tea > tretinoin mixed with whatever serum that's in my stash > Cerave in the tub > Vaseline

Ditching the vaseline, tretinoin and adding SPF in the daytime. If I'm going out.

And I unironically think Dr. Dray is pretty now, and my do look a lot like hers. So if you want to archive her skin, you're welcome.

If someone is interested, I have used minoxidil on my beard area since december, and it do work. I'm much more scruffy, but don't expect a full beard in a few months. You have to at least use it for a year, for the new hairs to have time to be permanent. And I was a full on twink with some chin pubes and a bad stache not filled out in the middle. Change this drastic takes time.
Anyway, tretinoin helps making minoxidil more effective. That and dermaneedling. There is a lot of fuss about using peppermint oil on your beard area. But thing is, the studies for proving that peppermint helps, is used on the head. Peppermint does lower testosterone, which is needed to be converted into DHT. Which you need to grow beard hair.

Thanks for reading my sperg out, if you bothered to read it all.

I've been on Accutane twice, If you take care of your skin it's damn near flawless! But by the time you get off of it I ran into problems again lol. I definitely recommend it though.

I noticed that near-all sebaceous filaments were gotten rid by the Accutane. I didn't bother with any blood work and took more capsules a day than recommended. I used tretinoin while on Accutane too. If you ran into problems again, and are a girl. You may look into spirolactone, because you take it indefinitely. Spirolactone is a bit new, so expect that not all dermatologists know about it.

I'm autistic about skincare when it comes to my face, but I do next to nothing when it comes to my body. I hate the feeling of body lotions with a passion. But I need to use it more because my skin is so dry that when I shower it burns for 15 minutes and it has been bright red for 2 days because I dared to shave.

What are your favorite, incredibly fast absorbing body products? Or really any tips to not feel disgusting after I put lotion on.

Cerave or Cetaphil lotion, those in 400 ml pumps. Put it on when slightly wet, it makes it easier to slide it on. So you have to use less than applying dry. Applying it dry give you that nasty feeling that you have something on your skin, it sinks right through when wet.

I swear by tallow based lotions if you have sensitive skin.

I like the lightly scented ones, but the best for already irritated skin is the no scented option. https://www.nosetotail.org/product/...ne-peppermint-handmade-beef-tallow-skin-food/

Unscented tallow based lotions don't have a strong smell, but there is a slight (hard to describe) gamey smell if you smell it up close. Mixing in a little coconut oil or olive oil is another option to give it a pleasant non-irritating fragrance.

Remember to drink lots of water. Not only does it keep your skin looking good, but it also helps prevent any acne and other issues.

I feel stupid, I should've just drank more water instead of taking Acctutane. Even though my piss always was light in color because of good hydration. I guess the key to clear skin is water intoxication.
Can't have bad skin if you're dead?

I use an all purpose cleaner and a separate moisturiser I got from amway for my face. I also put the moisturiser on my hands to make them softer (but avoiding all manual labour is probably the real contributor)
Ill admit I managed to get both products ~30% off because my ex unironically was a 'partner' and so let me buy them off him at whole-sale price. I definitely don't support the company in any of its legal antics or its exploitative structure but credit where credit's due, the products are indeed great and have lasted me well over a year with almost daily application, definitely worth the price I paid

This is correct. Hydration is also a significant factor in terms of general skin health and looking 'good.' You could be using a barrage of high quality products daily, but if you're chronically dehydrated or 'underhydrated' like most people are, you're essentially putting a bandaid on a gaping wound.

I'm early thirties, have been moisturising daily since I was 17 or so. Current routine consists or nightly eye cream use and moisturiser. I look significantly younger than I do, which I attribute a large part to diligence in this respect

I got quite lucky with genetics too, which I'd be foolish to say isn't a contributing factor.

Drink your water people

Try a water/carbamide lotion of some kind. They have little to no oil in them, so they're less greasy and also absorb more into your skin. It will sting though.

do you mean you dislike thick, heavy lotions that can feel sticky/sit on top of your skin for a while, stuff that's greasy/oily, or both?

maybe you'll fare better with a body serum/gel cream instead? i've been using neutrogena hydroboost overnight hydration cream and it's definitely my favorite of the hydroboost body products. it's a thicker consistency than the regular hydroboost, but it absorbs more quickly (i guess because it isn't as watery) and leaves my skin feeling nice and hydrated. after i shower, i like to top it off with a more occlusive moisturizer or ointment, but it's perfect on its own for a moisture boost during the day.

it's also fragrance free, dye free, oil free, and it's only $8.99 for a 16 oz bottle. i love gel moisturizers on my face and body, hope you find one that works for you! ♥
