Smugruko (real name "Lory,") is an Anime/Videogame "journalist" and self-proclaimed master troll. Smug first got her start by working for another notorious lolcow, Ian Miles Cheong, where she became affiliated with 'Hype Break' and became the owner of 'Escapezero,' which is just another GamerGate circle jerk that has articles on-par with shit you would find on r/KotakuInAction. To keep true to her name, Smug goes out of her way to engage in many autistic spats on Twitter in order to validate herself. Unsurprisingly, her spats and callouts have resulted in a history of ban-evasions, backpedalling, and shit continually blowing up in her gace.

Smug and Alec "Woods" Holowka

On August 17, 2019, Smugruko made a post on twitter claiming that the lead developer of Night in the Woods, Alec Holowka, had used the dreaded "N-word" on discored on 4 separate occasions in an attempt to cancel him. However, it became very apparent that this wasn't Alec, but rather some random user on discord named "Woods." It didn't take long for people to point her out on her bullshit.



To thwart any further criticisms of her, she opted to go with the “It was a social experiment!” response and claimed she was only “baiting.” Many, did not believe her.

I think it’s important to point out that in that same month, Alec Holowka fucking killed him self amidst some drama related to Zoe Quinn, when Zoe made sexual assault accusations against him. These two events are completely unrelated, only taking place close to one another by mere coinidence.

Also this didn’t age very well...


Smug the Hypocrite


On June 4, 2019 Smug made a post on twitter, talking about how she got games for “free” through PSN. Play Station Network (PSN) is not a free service, yet rather a monthly online subscription. Many people came to correct her on this little slip up. Instead of admitting to her simple mistake, Smug went on a long ass rant about how she hates PC gamers and how she cant afford a computer to play on.

She later made a crowdfunding campaign for $600 so she could buy a gaming PC to spite the gamers. This went about as well as you expect.

Smug the Phony

On November 2, 2019, Smugruko was met with more drama in regards to a person named Sean (twitter: @ Sick1With4Smiles).

What happened was that Sean was arguing with another rando on Twitter who was posting loli content, to which Sean wanted them reported to the FBI. What Sean didn't realize was that the other user was 15 years old at the time. This caught the attention of Smug. Not wanting to miss out on capitalizing off some Twitter drama, she promptly inserted herself into the situation. Instead of trying to contact him and try to sort things out professionally, she instead tried to frame him as a pedophile.



This got her a lot of shit from a lot of people, even some of her die hard fans though this was retarded. How will she respond to criticism this time?



The Apologies


This wasn’t the first time she tried to fake some else’s tweets, and it probably won’t be the last. The best example of this was when she tried to pass off this blatantly fake, photoshop of Zoe Quinn’s DMs at as evidence against her.

Smug and EscapeZer0

EscapeZer0 (EZ), is Smugruko’s gaming news network that’s just a blatant, carbon copy of NicheGamer. Smug mimics NicheGamer’s mannerisms to a fault, from the stale memes they post on their social media, to the way they post uncredited fetish art, even replicating the same smug anime mascot. The only thing I can’t say they mimic perfectly, is that EZ’s articles are more on par with One Angry Gamer’s than they are with NG. Smug has little to no standards in regards to hiring/paying her employees. She often hires writers who are relatively young (can be as young as 15 years) who often have very poor grammar and writing comprehension, and her payment has been described by @SinglePlayerCarl as, "a toss up to whom's being compensated."

It's an everyday problem, to be frank.

It's just as everyone's seen -- she makes enemies of everyone and has no filter or boundaries, let alone consistent inner rules.

• She picks fights with entire communities;
• She picks fights constantly, off sheer rapaciousness;
• She picks fights for attention and clout to boost herself, rather than focusing on being a better boss to the people of her employ;
• She's prone to lie her ass off, because she doesn't archive a damn thing -- she only ever takes screengrabs of tweets so she can take people out of context, and so she can InspectElement to fake tweets as if both Kabuto and I aren't watching her like a hawk;
• Because she doesn't archive and defiantly refuses to learn how -- neither archive.md, WebRecorder, Wayback, or even FullPageCapture; the basics of what we use on the Farms --, she comes to people like me to do the work of research, investigation, and promotion of articles detailing to iron out what should be the most basic of shit I've had to teach the writers and editors, so they can protect themselves;
• Despite being the fact-checker and researcher, she refuses to even ask or inform anyone on staff of the shit she needs to archive to do the basics of journalistic integrity and willingly ignores them, when it gives her a chance to destroy personal enemies.

To top it off, she's also a user personality-- abusing Kabuto's good nature and heart, while she drags almost everyone's reputation through the mud of her shit without a second thought, because the attention and clout is THAT important to her.

After her shit with the faked tweets, I was the one who exposed it and her proclivities to, because I've also been investigating the abuse she'd done to some artists on the side.

I'm still investigating it, ontop of dealing with my own life/business, but I've slowly been distancing myself from her and positioning more to support Kabuto's mental so he doesn't go completely boom, while upkeeping my business obligations and watching her like a hawk.

I've already said that money hasn't exchanged my hands at all, despite being listed as one of the paid staff -- so it's a toss up to whom's being compensated.

But, I can tell you that the way she runs the writers and editors is like a sweatshop. She really wants to overtake NicheGamer's numbers, but as seen in my conversation with Kabuto, the quality can use work.

Smug continuously fails to recognize that her actions aren't just reflective of her, but rather reflective of her friends and co-workers. Smug's retarded decision making has caused many of friends and fans to distance themselves from her, and some have driven themselves to post on this thread, (most namely @You Just Ever Yandere and @SinglePlayerCarl)

Smug isn’t the most bold of leaders, and has gotten into many slap fights on Twitter with her own employees and has been very unapologetic about it.
