Abortion has been effectively banned in Poland and people are protesting, larger than anything ever seen here. Women are going on a general strike. (And amazingly it isn't getting any coverage here - it's like Solidarity all over again.)
If the Republicans get their fondest wish, expect the same here, but much, much larger.
I saw those protests, they weren't that big, maybe 30,000 people. The social distancing in these crowds makes them seems larger than they are.
In Poland the left wing is a tiny rump of the parliament, maybe 40 seats out of 460. Maybe they can make a push for increased popularity if the abortion measure is unpopular enough but pretending that the majority of Poles are up in arms about the new law is laughable.
It would be a different story in the US.
