Imagine that instead of developing nuclear weapons, the Manhattan Project was instead devoted to developing a “gay bomb” that turns all of the people in its blast radius gay. It’s 2030, WWIII is on the horizon, and after some mixed signals the US and Russia launch their entire stockpile of weapons of mass dickstruction, causing 50% of the entire world population (more or less randomly distributed) spontaneously turning gay.

What would be the immediate and long-term societal and economic impacts of such a wide-reaching change to the baseline population?

For a variation - what if this change affected only men? e.g. 50% of all men are now gay, women are unaffected.

Is there any media that explores the effects of such a gay apocalypse? I feel that this is a topic ripe for exploitation that can be explored in both humorous and realistic ways.

How would it affect already gay men? Would the normie gays become superfags and would the already existing superfags become something worse?

It depends on if the new gay men would control their desires or if they act more or less similarly to current gay men.

If the latter, there would be an absolute explosion of STD's and pedophilia, considering that the average gay has 500 sexual partners and that gay men are between 20 and 25x overrepresented in pedophilia and currently the 2% gay population is responsible for 83% of syphillis cases and 70% of hiv cases.

If the same rate would go for the gay bomb affected men, and it means that gay population goes from between 1-2% to 50%, it stands to reason that the amount of pedo and STD cases would multiply by somewhere between 25 and 50x


Politically it would also be the end of LGBT.

Gay would become such a signficant voting block, that it would no longer need the alliance and instead advocate stronger for their specific needs. It would transform politics. And I think they would be a lot less beholden to women and that it would put pressure on welfare systems, as gay men have less interest in paying for women's stuff even than incels do.
