Soda Vs. Pop - The eternal battle

When referring to surgary carbonated beverages, would you typically call such drinks "Soda," or would you say "Pop?"

Or, are you one of the special animals that just says "Bubbly" or "Coke" or 'BIG, BLACK DICK?"

I've always people who use "pop" would be elderly. That or it's used as a joke in a movie/show. Everyone I know said soda.

Also in Boston, at least traditionally, if you order a milkshake, it will contain no ice cream. If you want ice cream in it, you need to order a frappe.

This has probably changed a lot in recent decades with more mobile populations. But it was firmly entrenched at least until the end of the 20th century.
